GEMWISE EDUCATION NETWORK

    India Outreach Project

                             1
INTRODUCTION
GEMWISE Education Network is an E-Learning company that facilitates educational services to students
globally, currently operating in the Korean and Japanese markets and on the verge of making an impact
on the Indian market. Our profound E-Book Library and highly qualified teachers enable us to fulfill our
goal of bestowing a proficient and concept based learning experience to anyone, anywhere, anytime.
G.E.N. has a vision of becoming a global benchmark leader in education by providing direction,
customization and enhancing the student’s learning experience. G.E.N. instills a unique learning path
guiding the student from the early stages of education to an adequate and viable career path. Education
plays a vital role in the development of the country, therefore we are looking to educate as many parts
of India with our infrastructure and concept, to reach every learner that is willing to learn yet lacks the
opportunity. This is done by using the latest technology as well as innovative teaching methods to
impart a quality and effective education to the learner customized at their convenience and learning
pace.

G.E.N. intends to reach out to the masses of internet users, schools, universities, as well as initiate
methods of learning to the less privileged and those who lack the opportunity. Our learners experience
the latest teaching methodologies custom built to connect with the learner and to deliver an
extraordinary education. Our corporate social responsibility of reaching out to Rural India and providing
an education and infrastructure to those who are under privileged is a prioritized focus. The true
potential, uniqueness and individuality needs to be evoked in the Indian population.

With current conventional teaching methods and systems, one only learns so much from that
experience, mostly its pros and cons. In our rapidly growing society we need new, innovative and up to
date teaching methods that help the learner absorb what is being taught, collaborated with the latest
technologies and high content material that is suited to provide the best resources available and deliver
an effective learning experience.

The current education system leaves no space for self thought and development. These days students
that graduate from schools have no idea of what to do, they would either take on the most popular
career path or end up being coerced into a job doing and becoming something they never intended to
be. Student lack direction and individuality, we enhance their way of learning and eventually living,
furnishing them with their individuality, uniqueness, and self implemented thought process.

E-Tutoring - G.E.N. is currently offering an E Learning service to students worldwide and is facilitating
this service through an online interactive platform which enables the tutor to use advanced
technological teaching methods in order to teach the student effectively and efficiently. This platform
allows the user to share all sorts of documents and files, as well as desktop and file sharing in order to
conduct the sessions with structured and innovative lesson plans. Our concept revolves around the
learner receiving a more visual and practical way of learning in order to maximize absorption of the
content that is being taught, therefore we use innovative lesson designs and content to enable this to
occur.

Our Rural India Outreach Program involves a heavy injection of infrastructure for communities lacking
fundamental resources which involve the acquisition of a proper education which is currently failing due
to lack of proper funding for infrastructure and training. We intend on building this infrastructure,

                                                                                                        2
training the teachers, linking it to a common platform and network as well as using modern technology
to improve delivery methods of learning for maximum absorption and application.

The economic situation over the last decade in India has steadily been growing and improving. It is
reckoned that India will be a “Super Power” in the next few coming years. However, behind this bravura
stage is something that has passed us by.

Education has not observed a benchmark in the rural sector in India. It is debatable if the issue has been
addressed in the past, or the fact that it has not delivered results over the last decade in recent. The
present scenario in the rural sector is a dead end as most institutions lack funding and infrastructure as
well as well equipped teachers to impart the knowledge effectively. Most children are not able to avail a
primary education, and if they do there is no opportunity to continue that education due to various
circumstances. There is incredulity in the quality of the education received, its delivery methods which
directly leads to the high improbability of employment.

There are various problems that we are facing in the rural sector, and there are issues that need
addressing. Some of those issues and problems are as mentioned below:
    • Education system in Rural India is an absolute failure
    • Numerous Children are unable to avail a primary education
    • Learning is not the priority anymore:
It has become more about passing exams rather than gaining anything and this applies to both
the private and public schools even in cities.
    • Relevant coursework and curriculum pertaining to the being an individual, having uniqueness
and self esteem is not provided.
    • Basics to practicality should be instilled in children from a young age.
There is no cycle in the Education system ensuring that a child continues his/her education from primary
school to secondary school and so forth. Due to the lack of infrastructure and appropriate funding
students often end up taking correspondence courses which is not the same environment or setting that
can evenly motivate a student. Even if one graduates from college, the graduates are mostly
unemployable, because of poor quality course material and teaching in the colleges.

Our objective of providing Rural India with a self sustainable environment enables students to be an
asset to society rather than a liability, and in the bigger picture contributing to socio-economic
development.

The “Rote” method of learning can only take an individual so far. Although it has proved to be one of
India’s strong holds, concept based learning can indulge the student in practicality and can boost
morale, individuality among other characteristics that develops a student and better prepares him/her
for the future in our fast paced and evolving society.

With the foundation that we are laying from an early stage we can increase productivity and efficiency
with a better access to information technology and communication. With the self sustainable
environment we can increase self reliance and independence as our motive is to give every individual to
establish a living of their own by giving them the opportunity to take control of their own future. We
would also be developing management of the environment by creating awareness through education.
Our intended end result would be the speed up development and growth of knowledge of every
individual and give skill based employment. We are looking to give the unskilled laborer a better future

                                                                                                       3
and livelihood with impartial teaching and useful knowledge that can be applied to the practical day to
day working scenario.

Education Networking
We are developing a network, coupled with technological infrastructure that is going to synergize and
revolutionize the whole Education System and how it functions within India. This Network will hold a
collection of Content and Curriculum which will be developed to enhance practical learning. Increasing
content absorption with a “hands on” learning approach and will be suited to the core subjects and
customized to the Governing Boards of Education. This network is going to connect and amalgamate the
entire country into learning and teaching as one, by creating a standard of teaching, we will ensure that
learning is effective and result oriented. Our network will reach out to the masses of Rural India, as well
as public and private Schools and Universities where our concept can be instilled and utilized to create a
benchmark standard in teaching and infrastructure throughout the nation.

Hardware and Software
Our Network will be accessed in every classroom throughout India, with the use of Interactive
Whiteboards and Networking solutions that will enable every teacher to use the specially designed
Content as per Curriculum by using a laptop or desktop linked with an interactive whiteboard, giving the
teacher an abundance of resources and interactive multimedia to teach with a newly revolutionized
style and keeping the students eagerly interested in the lesson planned. G.E.N. will provide networking
solutions to all Educational Institutions and encourage them to have access of our Virtual Private
Network. With this VPN there will be access to resources that can change the way our Education System
functions. Our software will be developed to optimize management of classrooms and large educational
institutions.

Infrastructure
Within Rural Communities G.E.N. will build schools that are specially designed to create a practical way
of learning for students. These schools will have a self sustainable environment which will be integrated
with the Curriculum of the School. These schools will have a complete uplink to our Network and will
also enable students to learn with a hands-on approach rather than theoretically. The infrastructure will
be designed in such a way that costs incurred to maintain it will be minimal; it will have a smart
functionality and will be able to sustain itself with the use of modern day technology. With the use of
Agriculture, Solar Technology, Water Harvesting and other self sustainable resources one can create
such an environment that requires minimal inputs and maximizes outputs. With our technological
infrastructure we can create a learning environment that is interactive, practical and gives more
attention to visual learning in order to increase absorption of content. By enhancing our teaching
methodologies we intend to provide sufficient hands-on training to teachers across India to use a more
effective concept based learning approach rather than fall prey to rote learning.

Affiliations and Partnerships
In order for this network to function, there has to be a collaborative effort to fulfill and achieve a vision.
Affiliations from Educational Institutions and NGOs all over India will be required to function as a
cohesive unit towards reaching this vision, this requires the Public and Private sector institutions as well
as NGOs to come together and reach out to the masses that require our intervention. We will arrange
for state wide exchange programs, collaborative projects and a complete Social Welfare Activation lead
by a common vision and directive measures allowing substantial growth within Rural Communities all
across India.

                                                                                                           4
Concept
Infrastructure
Our infrastructure will be constructed in different locations around Rural Karnataka, surrounding the city
of Bangalore. One establishment will be strategically situated centrally between 4-7 communities,
enabling children to gather in one location to meet and interact as well as be provided with a practical
and effective education. The children will range from ages of 4 to 16 years, class I to X, among
communities surrounding one another giving them opportunities for high end interaction and
possibilities of learning from others as a pose to just one community.

Campus Design
One establishment will be designed to accommodate a building with classrooms, computer laboratories
including library, science laboratory, Embroidery Lab, Agriculture Science Farm, Home Science, Design
and Technology Lab and a Playground as well as essentials such as toilets, dining halls etc... The schedule
will be on a Rotational basis, where the movement will be as per classes, meaning 1st Class will have a
time slot of a particular subject, while 2nd Class will be in the farm, at the same time 3rd class will be in
the Computer lab, and so and so forth. The land size will have to be of a substantial amount as these
infrastructures have to accommodate at least 500 – 3000 students. The whole campus will be wirelessly
connected to the virtual private network, enabling students and teachers to access the VPN at any point
of time from any location.

The point of creating a wireless network and providing sophisticated infrastructure is to be able to
extend it to any required location that needs access to such resources, but mainly to develop IT
infrastructure in Rural India and increase intellectual capital wherein creating a foundation of skilled,
resourceful and productive learners and teachers who evidently contribute to the overall Human
Resource Development of Rural India.

                                Private Organizations and NGOs
Gemwise Education Network is looking to partner with NGOs and Private Organizations to implement
this project with. G.E.N. wants to amalgamate and collaborate with various Work Groups and synergize
the workflow in order for us to help Rural India Develop and achieve for the Socio Economic
Development of India.

This project involves a collaborative effort of many NGOs and Private Organizations to come together
and share their resources to implement and sustain such development and growth for Rural India. With
the right approach and resources this concept can redefine the way our Educational System functions,
not only in Rural India, but also in Urban Cities and Metropolitans all around the country. The vision is
clear, it imperative that we give every child and individual the right to a result oriented education,
without which poverty cannot be decreased. The goals are simple, we have to act now before poverty
margins increase and the economic gap between the wealthy and poor is not reduced. Instead of
competing against one another why is it that we as a Nation cannot come together to help those that
need it the most? The answers are easy to find, we have to join hands in order to provide facilities,
funding and infrastructure to areas where it lacks the most amount of development.

G.E.N. can implement the concept for a Pilot Project to measure the success and efficiency of this
project. With that there is a larger picture in mind where this concept can be instilled in all other

                                                                                                          5
Educational Institutions that are currently operational within Rural Locations all around the country. The
institutions where this concept can be successfully implemented are where there is a lack of
infrastructure, technology, thought for a self sustainable cycle. More importantly their curriculum has to
be improved and developed to help increase individuality, freedom and self expression.

Our concept involves a lot of infrastructure and technology development in rural locations that are
surrounded by remote communities where educational facilities are failing or unable to sustain
themselves. The concept involves creating a self sustainable environment where all students learn
practically and are given options at a very young age in order for them to choose their own futures. The
campuses are technologically advanced and require minimum maintenance with the engineering and
design it has.

We are willing to develop our content and curriculum with other NGOs that are currently implementing
their curriculum in Educational Institutions depending upon the success of that Curriculum when it
comes to a result oriented and practical style of teaching and imparting knowledge. Since G.E.N. is
developing all of its content into Electronic formats, such as multimedia, game based learning etc… then
we can also develop other curriculums and convert it into E Content.

The success of this concept depends on the training that will be provided to our teachers and staff who
will be instilled with the vision that holds the future our country’s youth. With professional training and
sound and effective teaching methodologies we can ensure that these teachers are trained by the best
to teach in the most effective manner that will make a difference in the lives of millions. G.E.N. is willing
to provide this training to other teachers who are currently teaching at locations in Rural India.

In order for this Project to succeed G.E.N. is willing to provide as many resources as it can and requires
the assistance of many NGOs for various purposes to manage these resources and leverage the
collective strengths of individuals as well as organizations. For the coordination and implementation of
the project, Gemwise will need a lot of Manpower, when it comes to the development, initiation and
implementation stages. Then in the long run when there is a requirement for teachers, more students,
campuses, administrators etc…

Since NGOs have been into Rural Education for a long time and have firsthand experience at
implementing similar projects, G.E.N. will be in need of this experience to gather as much intelligence
and information as possible when it comes to making this a great accomplishment for all those involved.
With the help of experienced campaigners and those that know exactly how to coordinate such projects,
it would be of a great help to this project. The experience of great visionaries as well as leveraging the
expertise in order to achieve the target is imminent for this collaborative project.

This project is very important for the success of not only those who will benefit from it directly, such as
the students and communities all around Rural India, but our credibility and integrity will be tested as
we have to deliver to those who are suffering due to poverty stricken Rural India.

                                                                                                          6
Execution & Management
Gemwise Education Network will undertake the sole responsibility for the execution, management and
coordination of this project. G.E.N. will appoint a project coordination team who will be under a Project
Manager to report the status and coordinate with all parties involved. All project staff will be appointed
by the implementing entity and will hold the company contracts.

Execution
The execution of the Project will be done by the Gemwise Education Network, where the Project team
will implement as per budgeted project requirements and procedures decided by G.E.N. A Project
Coordinator will be appointed who will take full charge of the Project Team’s decision making with
approval from the Project Manager. The Project Team will comprise of IT experts, Networking Engineers,
Subject Matter Experts, Content Developers, Software Engineers, Wireless Network Engineers, Builders,
Contractors and Tower Infrastructure Developers etc…

Coordination
The Project Coordinator will have exceptional skills in adhering to schedules, budgets, coordination and
following a fixed budget, under an assigned time-span in order complete the project within a stipulated
timeframe, within the allocated amount of funding take cost effective measures that do not
compromise on quality.

Procedure
The procedure for task completion will be laid out by G.E.N. depending upon tasks that can be done
simultaneously and those that require completion of another task before it can commence on a linked
task. A critical path will be determined in order to keep the timeline under control, as there should be
no unnecessary delays when it comes to managing the tasks at hand.

Work Plan
A Work Plan that is prepared by Gemwise Education Network will be attached as Annex 1 to this project
document. This will display the step by step procedure that has to be followed in order to complete this
project at one Site. This will require a clear and concise plan that has interlinked activities while taking
into consideration that time and cost are the two main factors that can affect this project and the
vitality of its success.

Monitoring & Evaluation
Task completion of the project will be monitored on a daily basis, with evaluation and assessment done
on a weekly basis to make sure that tasks are being completed on time and efficiently. There will be a
monitoring committee which will include field operatives and corporate management that will assess
and evaluate the progress of the project and ensure that timeliness and costs are kept under control at
all times.

                                                                                                         7

Pilot project proposal for ngo's

  • 1. Project Proposal GEMWISE EDUCATION NETWORK India Outreach Project 1
  • 2. INTRODUCTION GEMWISE Education Network is an E-Learning company that facilitates educational services to students globally, currently operating in the Korean and Japanese markets and on the verge of making an impact on the Indian market. Our profound E-Book Library and highly qualified teachers enable us to fulfill our goal of bestowing a proficient and concept based learning experience to anyone, anywhere, anytime. G.E.N. has a vision of becoming a global benchmark leader in education by providing direction, customization and enhancing the student’s learning experience. G.E.N. instills a unique learning path guiding the student from the early stages of education to an adequate and viable career path. Education plays a vital role in the development of the country, therefore we are looking to educate as many parts of India with our infrastructure and concept, to reach every learner that is willing to learn yet lacks the opportunity. This is done by using the latest technology as well as innovative teaching methods to impart a quality and effective education to the learner customized at their convenience and learning pace. G.E.N. intends to reach out to the masses of internet users, schools, universities, as well as initiate methods of learning to the less privileged and those who lack the opportunity. Our learners experience the latest teaching methodologies custom built to connect with the learner and to deliver an extraordinary education. Our corporate social responsibility of reaching out to Rural India and providing an education and infrastructure to those who are under privileged is a prioritized focus. The true potential, uniqueness and individuality needs to be evoked in the Indian population. With current conventional teaching methods and systems, one only learns so much from that experience, mostly its pros and cons. In our rapidly growing society we need new, innovative and up to date teaching methods that help the learner absorb what is being taught, collaborated with the latest technologies and high content material that is suited to provide the best resources available and deliver an effective learning experience. The current education system leaves no space for self thought and development. These days students that graduate from schools have no idea of what to do, they would either take on the most popular career path or end up being coerced into a job doing and becoming something they never intended to be. Student lack direction and individuality, we enhance their way of learning and eventually living, furnishing them with their individuality, uniqueness, and self implemented thought process. E-Tutoring - G.E.N. is currently offering an E Learning service to students worldwide and is facilitating this service through an online interactive platform which enables the tutor to use advanced technological teaching methods in order to teach the student effectively and efficiently. This platform allows the user to share all sorts of documents and files, as well as desktop and file sharing in order to conduct the sessions with structured and innovative lesson plans. Our concept revolves around the learner receiving a more visual and practical way of learning in order to maximize absorption of the content that is being taught, therefore we use innovative lesson designs and content to enable this to occur. Our Rural India Outreach Program involves a heavy injection of infrastructure for communities lacking fundamental resources which involve the acquisition of a proper education which is currently failing due to lack of proper funding for infrastructure and training. We intend on building this infrastructure, 2
  • 3. training the teachers, linking it to a common platform and network as well as using modern technology to improve delivery methods of learning for maximum absorption and application. The economic situation over the last decade in India has steadily been growing and improving. It is reckoned that India will be a “Super Power” in the next few coming years. However, behind this bravura stage is something that has passed us by. Education has not observed a benchmark in the rural sector in India. It is debatable if the issue has been addressed in the past, or the fact that it has not delivered results over the last decade in recent. The present scenario in the rural sector is a dead end as most institutions lack funding and infrastructure as well as well equipped teachers to impart the knowledge effectively. Most children are not able to avail a primary education, and if they do there is no opportunity to continue that education due to various circumstances. There is incredulity in the quality of the education received, its delivery methods which directly leads to the high improbability of employment. There are various problems that we are facing in the rural sector, and there are issues that need addressing. Some of those issues and problems are as mentioned below: • Education system in Rural India is an absolute failure • Numerous Children are unable to avail a primary education • Learning is not the priority anymore: It has become more about passing exams rather than gaining anything and this applies to both the private and public schools even in cities. • Relevant coursework and curriculum pertaining to the being an individual, having uniqueness and self esteem is not provided. • Basics to practicality should be instilled in children from a young age. There is no cycle in the Education system ensuring that a child continues his/her education from primary school to secondary school and so forth. Due to the lack of infrastructure and appropriate funding students often end up taking correspondence courses which is not the same environment or setting that can evenly motivate a student. Even if one graduates from college, the graduates are mostly unemployable, because of poor quality course material and teaching in the colleges. Our objective of providing Rural India with a self sustainable environment enables students to be an asset to society rather than a liability, and in the bigger picture contributing to socio-economic development. The “Rote” method of learning can only take an individual so far. Although it has proved to be one of India’s strong holds, concept based learning can indulge the student in practicality and can boost morale, individuality among other characteristics that develops a student and better prepares him/her for the future in our fast paced and evolving society. With the foundation that we are laying from an early stage we can increase productivity and efficiency with a better access to information technology and communication. With the self sustainable environment we can increase self reliance and independence as our motive is to give every individual to establish a living of their own by giving them the opportunity to take control of their own future. We would also be developing management of the environment by creating awareness through education. Our intended end result would be the speed up development and growth of knowledge of every individual and give skill based employment. We are looking to give the unskilled laborer a better future 3
  • 4. and livelihood with impartial teaching and useful knowledge that can be applied to the practical day to day working scenario. Education Networking We are developing a network, coupled with technological infrastructure that is going to synergize and revolutionize the whole Education System and how it functions within India. This Network will hold a collection of Content and Curriculum which will be developed to enhance practical learning. Increasing content absorption with a “hands on” learning approach and will be suited to the core subjects and customized to the Governing Boards of Education. This network is going to connect and amalgamate the entire country into learning and teaching as one, by creating a standard of teaching, we will ensure that learning is effective and result oriented. Our network will reach out to the masses of Rural India, as well as public and private Schools and Universities where our concept can be instilled and utilized to create a benchmark standard in teaching and infrastructure throughout the nation. Hardware and Software Our Network will be accessed in every classroom throughout India, with the use of Interactive Whiteboards and Networking solutions that will enable every teacher to use the specially designed Content as per Curriculum by using a laptop or desktop linked with an interactive whiteboard, giving the teacher an abundance of resources and interactive multimedia to teach with a newly revolutionized style and keeping the students eagerly interested in the lesson planned. G.E.N. will provide networking solutions to all Educational Institutions and encourage them to have access of our Virtual Private Network. With this VPN there will be access to resources that can change the way our Education System functions. Our software will be developed to optimize management of classrooms and large educational institutions. Infrastructure Within Rural Communities G.E.N. will build schools that are specially designed to create a practical way of learning for students. These schools will have a self sustainable environment which will be integrated with the Curriculum of the School. These schools will have a complete uplink to our Network and will also enable students to learn with a hands-on approach rather than theoretically. The infrastructure will be designed in such a way that costs incurred to maintain it will be minimal; it will have a smart functionality and will be able to sustain itself with the use of modern day technology. With the use of Agriculture, Solar Technology, Water Harvesting and other self sustainable resources one can create such an environment that requires minimal inputs and maximizes outputs. With our technological infrastructure we can create a learning environment that is interactive, practical and gives more attention to visual learning in order to increase absorption of content. By enhancing our teaching methodologies we intend to provide sufficient hands-on training to teachers across India to use a more effective concept based learning approach rather than fall prey to rote learning. Affiliations and Partnerships In order for this network to function, there has to be a collaborative effort to fulfill and achieve a vision. Affiliations from Educational Institutions and NGOs all over India will be required to function as a cohesive unit towards reaching this vision, this requires the Public and Private sector institutions as well as NGOs to come together and reach out to the masses that require our intervention. We will arrange for state wide exchange programs, collaborative projects and a complete Social Welfare Activation lead by a common vision and directive measures allowing substantial growth within Rural Communities all across India. 4
  • 5. Concept Infrastructure Our infrastructure will be constructed in different locations around Rural Karnataka, surrounding the city of Bangalore. One establishment will be strategically situated centrally between 4-7 communities, enabling children to gather in one location to meet and interact as well as be provided with a practical and effective education. The children will range from ages of 4 to 16 years, class I to X, among communities surrounding one another giving them opportunities for high end interaction and possibilities of learning from others as a pose to just one community. Campus Design One establishment will be designed to accommodate a building with classrooms, computer laboratories including library, science laboratory, Embroidery Lab, Agriculture Science Farm, Home Science, Design and Technology Lab and a Playground as well as essentials such as toilets, dining halls etc... The schedule will be on a Rotational basis, where the movement will be as per classes, meaning 1st Class will have a time slot of a particular subject, while 2nd Class will be in the farm, at the same time 3rd class will be in the Computer lab, and so and so forth. The land size will have to be of a substantial amount as these infrastructures have to accommodate at least 500 – 3000 students. The whole campus will be wirelessly connected to the virtual private network, enabling students and teachers to access the VPN at any point of time from any location. The point of creating a wireless network and providing sophisticated infrastructure is to be able to extend it to any required location that needs access to such resources, but mainly to develop IT infrastructure in Rural India and increase intellectual capital wherein creating a foundation of skilled, resourceful and productive learners and teachers who evidently contribute to the overall Human Resource Development of Rural India. Private Organizations and NGOs Gemwise Education Network is looking to partner with NGOs and Private Organizations to implement this project with. G.E.N. wants to amalgamate and collaborate with various Work Groups and synergize the workflow in order for us to help Rural India Develop and achieve for the Socio Economic Development of India. This project involves a collaborative effort of many NGOs and Private Organizations to come together and share their resources to implement and sustain such development and growth for Rural India. With the right approach and resources this concept can redefine the way our Educational System functions, not only in Rural India, but also in Urban Cities and Metropolitans all around the country. The vision is clear, it imperative that we give every child and individual the right to a result oriented education, without which poverty cannot be decreased. The goals are simple, we have to act now before poverty margins increase and the economic gap between the wealthy and poor is not reduced. Instead of competing against one another why is it that we as a Nation cannot come together to help those that need it the most? The answers are easy to find, we have to join hands in order to provide facilities, funding and infrastructure to areas where it lacks the most amount of development. G.E.N. can implement the concept for a Pilot Project to measure the success and efficiency of this project. With that there is a larger picture in mind where this concept can be instilled in all other 5
  • 6. Educational Institutions that are currently operational within Rural Locations all around the country. The institutions where this concept can be successfully implemented are where there is a lack of infrastructure, technology, thought for a self sustainable cycle. More importantly their curriculum has to be improved and developed to help increase individuality, freedom and self expression. Our concept involves a lot of infrastructure and technology development in rural locations that are surrounded by remote communities where educational facilities are failing or unable to sustain themselves. The concept involves creating a self sustainable environment where all students learn practically and are given options at a very young age in order for them to choose their own futures. The campuses are technologically advanced and require minimum maintenance with the engineering and design it has. We are willing to develop our content and curriculum with other NGOs that are currently implementing their curriculum in Educational Institutions depending upon the success of that Curriculum when it comes to a result oriented and practical style of teaching and imparting knowledge. Since G.E.N. is developing all of its content into Electronic formats, such as multimedia, game based learning etc… then we can also develop other curriculums and convert it into E Content. The success of this concept depends on the training that will be provided to our teachers and staff who will be instilled with the vision that holds the future our country’s youth. With professional training and sound and effective teaching methodologies we can ensure that these teachers are trained by the best to teach in the most effective manner that will make a difference in the lives of millions. G.E.N. is willing to provide this training to other teachers who are currently teaching at locations in Rural India. In order for this Project to succeed G.E.N. is willing to provide as many resources as it can and requires the assistance of many NGOs for various purposes to manage these resources and leverage the collective strengths of individuals as well as organizations. For the coordination and implementation of the project, Gemwise will need a lot of Manpower, when it comes to the development, initiation and implementation stages. Then in the long run when there is a requirement for teachers, more students, campuses, administrators etc… Since NGOs have been into Rural Education for a long time and have firsthand experience at implementing similar projects, G.E.N. will be in need of this experience to gather as much intelligence and information as possible when it comes to making this a great accomplishment for all those involved. With the help of experienced campaigners and those that know exactly how to coordinate such projects, it would be of a great help to this project. The experience of great visionaries as well as leveraging the expertise in order to achieve the target is imminent for this collaborative project. This project is very important for the success of not only those who will benefit from it directly, such as the students and communities all around Rural India, but our credibility and integrity will be tested as we have to deliver to those who are suffering due to poverty stricken Rural India. 6
  • 7. Execution & Management Gemwise Education Network will undertake the sole responsibility for the execution, management and coordination of this project. G.E.N. will appoint a project coordination team who will be under a Project Manager to report the status and coordinate with all parties involved. All project staff will be appointed by the implementing entity and will hold the company contracts. Execution The execution of the Project will be done by the Gemwise Education Network, where the Project team will implement as per budgeted project requirements and procedures decided by G.E.N. A Project Coordinator will be appointed who will take full charge of the Project Team’s decision making with approval from the Project Manager. The Project Team will comprise of IT experts, Networking Engineers, Subject Matter Experts, Content Developers, Software Engineers, Wireless Network Engineers, Builders, Contractors and Tower Infrastructure Developers etc… Coordination The Project Coordinator will have exceptional skills in adhering to schedules, budgets, coordination and following a fixed budget, under an assigned time-span in order complete the project within a stipulated timeframe, within the allocated amount of funding take cost effective measures that do not compromise on quality. Procedure The procedure for task completion will be laid out by G.E.N. depending upon tasks that can be done simultaneously and those that require completion of another task before it can commence on a linked task. A critical path will be determined in order to keep the timeline under control, as there should be no unnecessary delays when it comes to managing the tasks at hand. Work Plan A Work Plan that is prepared by Gemwise Education Network will be attached as Annex 1 to this project document. This will display the step by step procedure that has to be followed in order to complete this project at one Site. This will require a clear and concise plan that has interlinked activities while taking into consideration that time and cost are the two main factors that can affect this project and the vitality of its success. Monitoring & Evaluation Task completion of the project will be monitored on a daily basis, with evaluation and assessment done on a weekly basis to make sure that tasks are being completed on time and efficiently. There will be a monitoring committee which will include field operatives and corporate management that will assess and evaluate the progress of the project and ensure that timeliness and costs are kept under control at all times. 7
