• Customers starting out with Certification for the first time or have an expired certification will have to
pass this exam
• Validates you have the fundamental skills necessary to understand and begin deploying VMware
vSphere environments.
• Starting point for certifications in all solution tracks
• Can be taken online from any Internet connected location

7. VCP6-DCV Elective Exam
• This is exam is for customers who have passed vSphere 6 Foundation exam and want to become VCP6-
DCV certified
• Validates you have the skills required to successfully install, deploy, scale and manage VMware vSphere 6
environments
• Proctored Exam at Pearson-VUE locations

8. VCP6-Data Center Virtualization Certification Delta Exam
• Customers already hold a valid VCP5-DCV that has not expired
• Validates you have the skills required to successfully install, deploy, scale and manage VMware vSphere 6
environments
• Proctored Exam at Pearson-VUE locations
• Fewer questions than the DCV exam
