The use of the characters Melisandre and Jon Snow also help to
show a clear versus through colour representation as Melisandre is
a wielder of magic yet she is dangerous which is why she is and is
surrounded by red. As well as this negative connotation of danger
and blood Melisandre is slightly more objectified as a woman with
a tight bodice and a very beautiful face.
Whereas, Jon Snow is all dressed in black which is usually
connoted murder and foreboding danger yet, it is Jon Snow who is
the good character which perhaps is why he is surrounded by
white.
