Viviana Barquero is a researcher seeking to integrate renewable energy into the sustainable development as a model towards climate change adaptation in Mexican communities. Her research primarily studies the diagnose and development of sustainable communities focusing on the food-water-energy nexus. She worked at the Renewable Energy Network of the Institute of Environment at the University of Arizona where she was dedicated to understand end users behaviors and their interest to actively participate in the distributed energy market in the U.S., Australia and Mexico.
