This research will breed results. You will become aware of your color choices and how to unify pallets in your works. If followed through, this exercise will make clear the emotional function of color and it's strong communicative power when allied to efficient silhouettes, even with little detail in color or transitions.

Simple Silhouettes (Exercise)
1. SIMPLE SILHOUETTES
SUGGESTED MATERIAL
Gouache, watercolor, colored pencils and/or any other discrete linear tool.
EXERCISE
Starting from a linear approach, we will look in how to simplify areas of the Drawing and making purposeful color choices.
In each moment or type of material that we want to represent, were only allowed the use of two hues that are somehow related. Let's say we
are looking to paint a bottle made out of glass which contains a label. All the information in the glass area will be be presented with the use
of only two hues. In the label area will also be reduced to other two hues. It'll get easy to understand once you look at the examples provided
in the next pages.
Remember these two hues should be somehow related in value, temperature and or saturation. Our glass bottle might have darker moments
represented by a colder darker unsaturated green while it lit moments might tend towards warmer and colorful variation of green.
GOALS
This research will breed results. You will become aware of your color choices and how to unify pallets in your works. If followed through, this
exercise will make clear the emotional function of color and it's strong communicative power when allied to efïŹcient silhouettes, even with
little detail in color or transitions.
