2. MOLLUSCA
• A large phylum of invertebrate animals that
have a soft un segmented body lacking.
Mollusca is one of the most diverse group of
animals. It has totally about 2,00,000, species In
that 50,000 are living species. Organisms such
as Snails,octopuses,squid,calms,scallops,oysters
and chitons are some examples.it also includes
some lesser known groups like
“MONOPLACOPHORANS”.

3. CHARATERISTICS OF
MOLLUSCA:
• 1)It’s body has more than two cell layers,
tissues and organs.
• 2)It has a body without cavity.
• 3)It has an open circulatory system with heart
and an aorta.
• 4)It exchange gases in ctenidial gills.

4. • These animal are bilaterally symmetrical (can
be divided into equal halves)
There is segmentation inside their body
(dividing the body into various segments or
parts)
• The coelomic cavity Is reduced (body cavity)
• They have organs like kidney which is used for
excretion.(process in which metabolic waste
and other non useful waste are eliminated
from an organism)
