- 22. I've started Homix with (almost) no competition
- 23. and I've closed it after one year only :)
- 24. - there is competition - OK, good start, means there are also some money in the market
- 25. gather as much data as you can about the competition
- 26. compete.com, alexa.com, forum members, blogs, crunchbase.com, your friends, support forums, RSS feed readers on their blogs
- 27. write down the numbers
- 28. does it still make sense for you ?

- 30. now do the planning !

- 33. and use pen and paper, don't just keep the data in your mind
- 34. how many users you will have in 1 month ? 3 months ? 1 year ? 3 years ?
- 35. how much money you will make in 1 month ? 3 months ? 1 year ? 3 years ?
- 36. “ but how can I possibly know that ???”
- 37. you can't do “educated guess” !
- 38. why do that anyway ?
- 39. you need to run a marathon, and not just the first 500 meters !
- 40. you need to get used to the numbers, you need to trust your projections
- 41. OK, * NOW * it's time for some programming :)
- 42. build the simplest thing that works
- 43. and get out there to the users !

- 67. it's NO magic, YOU can do that !

- 71. you have users and fans around you
- 72. you have a few paying customers
