For many years cables ruled the world, but installation of
this causes great difficulty.
Mans continuous quest for even better technology led to
the Introduction of GI-FI.
As there is no recent development which transfers the data
faster. “This leads to introduction of GI-FI technology .“
Developed at “National Information And Communication
Technology Research Center” - MELBOURNE,AUSTRALIA.

WHY GI-FI ?
 The reason for pushing into GI-FI technology is
because of :
Slow rate.
High power consumption.
Low range of frequency operations of earlier
technologies i.e., Bluetooth and WI-FI .

Ten times faster then the current
wireless transfer rate.

ARCHITECTURE OF GI-FI:

Core component is the Subscriber station available to
several access points .
Standard- IEEE 802.15.3C
This system often uses Small antenna at the subscriber
station.
 This antenna supports Line of sight operation.
Working of Gi-Fi
 Use of Time Division Duplex for both
transmission and receiving.
 TRANSMITTING : Conversion of data from IF
range to RF 60Ghz range.
 RECEIVING : The incoming RF signal is
converted to an IF signal and then to normal
data ranges.
 Uses Heterodyne principle.
 Data is transferred.
