The quality of the interiorsurface has a great impact on the quality
of an asep c system process. By means of polishing, the interior
contact surface is reduced. The specified surface quality of the
valve body is achieved through mechanical polishing and electro-
polishing.
Electro-polishing is an electrochemical process where the part
being polished serves as an anode. It is submerged in an
electrolytesolu onalongwithacathode.Avoltagebetween2and
25 volts is passed between the two and a strong chemical reac on
developswhichremovesexcessmaterial.
The process is controlled in such a way that at least 20 μmof
surface material is removed. The highest metal removal is
achievedatthepeaksofthemetalsurface.

DIAPHRAGMS
The diaphragm is a Very Important Component of the valve. It is the only part which comes in
contact with the fluid and only part which moves in the valve. The diaphragm controls or stops flow
ofthefluid.
In-house diaphragm manufacturing facility has developed, with years of con nuous efforts, to
produce diaphragms of World Standard. Every batch of diaphragms are tested on our con nuous
steam simula on equipment for minimum 20,000 opera ons. Diaphragm contains embedded steel
compressor studs. These studs and diaphragms are subjected to stretch test. AVCON diaphragms
can be interchanged without difficulty in the same size of valve, no change of compressor or spindle
isrequired.

EPDM diaphragms are molded with specially developed components, reinforced with inter layer
woven fabric inlay, to achieve highest suitability at elevated temperature and pressure. Due to

PTFE – PTFE diaphragms are designed and offered for highest degree of chemical resistances,

The Avcon valve bodies as standard are manufactured of the
material 316L as per ASME BPE Table MM-2.1-1 and according to
EN10204inspec oncer ficate3.1/MaterialTestReport(MTR).
All valve bodies contain a stamped heat number that allows for
traceability to the material proper es and physical composi on
ofthevalvebody.
The interior body contour and contact surfaces are designed
specifically to comply with the requirements of GMP and also
op mizedcleanabilityandacavity-freedesign.
The Avcon valve bodies are produced out of raw forged, block
material, or investment cast. Depending on the material and
specifica on of the valve bodies, different manufacturing
processesareused.
Investment Cast: The investment cast bodies are produced in a
pa ern filled with wax containing the shape of the final valve
body. AVCON pa erns are designed and op mized for high
quality cas ngs. The bodies are checked according to detailed
test specifica ons to ensure a reliable quality regarding the
materialstructureanddensity.
Forged Bodies: The forged body begins from a solid piece of
stainless steel ingot. Forged bodies offers high density and
homogeneous structure. This reduces the possibility of
porosity or that any inclusions can emerge.
Block Bodies: Block Bodies are made of solid wrought block or
bar stock material having equal features to that of forgings. The
individual raw valve body material cut from the block or bar
stock and then are mechanically machined according to the
specifica on. All the finished bodies can be supplied with a
Delta Ferrite content of less than 0.5%
VALVE BODY CONFIGURATION

EndConnec on
Permanent and detachable end connec ons are available as
flanges, screw fi ngs, or clamp connec ons. The end
connec ons can be supplied to meet allcommon pipe standards
(ISO,BS,ASMEBPE).
Spigot
Socket or bu weld ends are available according to ASME BPE
/ISO 1127 standards to meet hygienic or asep c requirements.
Orbital welding is the most common method to weld on the
endswithoutfillermetals.
Flanged
Asep c flanges according to ASA 150 # RF are available. Mated
flanges are bolted together and have a metal-to-metal stop to
ensure that the O-ring is mounted with a defined compression.
Both flanges are joined to the pipe ends by orbital welding. The
weld seams are polished to meet the finish quality of the valve
body.
Threaded
Screwed pipe connec ons are available with female threads
accordingto‘G’thread/ISO228innon-sanitaryversionavailable
onlyforangleseatedvalves.
TriClamp(TC):
The TC ends are connec ng the valve to the pipeline. The joints
are held together by a cone-shaped clamp. An EPDM or PTFE
gasket is inserted between the clamp fi ngs. Normally for
Process & U lity, customer prefers to have TC End Connec on
foreasymaintenance.

The tank valve body is machined from solid bar stock material
316L as per ASME BPE . The standard design offers one valve port
