2. Introductory
The Buddhism was not a god or a legend. He
was an amazing person that went out to seek
the truth. He travelled all over finding help from
others like him, almost starved to death and
slept on beds of thorns. But all he had to do was
close his eyes, and look within himself.
3. The Beginning
• Siddharta Gautama founded Buddhism
• Was born 2500 years ago
• Was son of the king in northern India
• Had a wonderful and luxurious childhood
• Wanted to know how the rest of the word lived
• Went to a nearby village and found poor and sick
people
• He was horrified, could not enjoy castle life any
longer
4. Buddhist Beliefs
The Buddhist people are very devoted to their
religion. They believe that the world is imperfect
and that they can fix it by achieving Nirvana(the
end of imperfectness).
5. Beliefs Word
• Anatta - The belief that there is nothing called
soul
• Anicca - Impermanence, the belief that
nothing lasts
• Dukha - Suffering and everything that is
unsatisfactory
• Karma - Actions that effect future lives
6. Main Beliefs
• They do not believe in god
• They believe that by following the teachings of
the Buddha they will find peace
• The Buddha found way to overcome the
imperfectness
• They meditate
• They Believe that the Buddha was human
7. Nobel Truth
• First Nobel Truth : Dukha happens everywhere
at all time
• Second Nobel Truth : Dukha is caused by
greed and selfishness
• Third Nobel Truth : Greed and selfishness can
be stopped
• Fourth Nobel Truth : The way to stop
selfishness is to follow the noble Eightfold
path
