application of Physical science and engineering
technology to provide mechanical or electro –mechanical
tool, instrumentation or ‘Hardware’ which can used for
instructionalpurpose. This is the view of “James .O. Finn’
and other (1960) for the “Audio visual education”
movement and by the electronic communication industry.
Educational technology is an applied or practical study
which aims at maximizing educations effects controlling
such relevant factors as educational purpose,educational
content, teaching material, educational environment,
content of students, an important component of the
educational technology should be the generation of
relevant and culturally compatible educational programs.

5. Meaning of Education Technology
Education Technology a System of 5m’s. Education
Technology is a system in education in which.
1) Machines
2) Materials
3) Media
4) Men
5) methods
They are inter- related and work together for
the fulfillment of specific educational objective.
Education Technology is an applied or practical study
which aims at maximizing educational effects by
“controlling” such relevant factors as educational
purposes, educational content, teaching materials,
education environmental, content of students, behaviors
of Instructors and interrelations between students and
instructors.

According to “Hillard Jason” the main
Objectives are:
1) Transmission of information
2) Serving as a role models
3) Assisting the practice of specific
skills.
4) Contribution to the provision of
Feedback.
“Mackenzie” and others describe the
following four main objectives of educational
Technology.
1)The need to reach more students.
2)To reach them with an improved
range of learning materials.
3)To offer greater opportunities for
independent study
4)To permit at least a limited student
response.

7. Macro Level Objectives of Educational Technology

1)Identification of educationalneeds & aspirations

2)Determination of the aims of education, broad

Micro Level Objectives of Educational Technology
(Objectives in terms of specific class room teaching)

learner.

stating them in behavioral terms.

materials and resources.

8. Scope of Educational Technology
Scope of educational the
technology is a wide as education itself. Its scope ranges
from the concreteeducational process to the must abstract
and subtle ones. It includes the use of hardware and
software and system analysis in various educational
operations. The possibility of using educational
technology in almost all areas of education has been and
is being explored. There are three major areas in
education it’s. Scope is very wide.
There are:
1)Technology related to general educational
administration and management.
2)Technology related to general educational
testing.
3)Technology related to the educational process.

9. CONCLUTION
Education Technology is an applied or practical study
which aims at maximizing educational effects. In this
technological era the evolution of terms like chemical
technology, printing technology, leather technology, bio-
technology etc…., has affected the field of education to
give wide currency to the concept of education
technology. The possibility of using educational
technology in almost all areas of education has been and
is being explored.
