2. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
BLS includes psychomotor skills for performing
high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR),
using an automated external defibrillator (AED)
and reviving the patient.
3. INDICATION
CPR INDICATED IN THE FOR THE VICTIM WHO HAS
SIGN OF:
Cardiac arrest (ie unresponsive, no normal
breathing and no pulse)
4. CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION
(CPR)
• Combines rescue breathing and chest
compressions
• Revives heart (Cardio) and Lung( Pulmonary)
functioning
• Use when there is no breathing and no pulse

IF HE RESPONDS
-leave him in the position in which you find him
provided there is no further danger
-try to find out what is wrong with him and get help if
needed
-Reassess and monitor until emergency responders
arrive

-Shout for help
-Turn the victim supine

-Compression depth: At least 2 inches (5 cm)*

29. Don’ts
• Do not use alcohol to wipe the patient’s chest
dry .Alcohol is flammable
• Do not touch the patient while AED is
analyzing and Defibrillating .
• Do not defibrillate when around flammable or
combustible material.
