The graphical user interfaces of software programs are used by researchers in the soft-ware engineering field to measure functionality, usability, durability, accessibility, and performance. This paper describes a reverse engineering approach to transform the cap-tured images of the distributed GUIs into class diagram. The processed distributed GUIs come from different and separate client computers. From the distributed GUIs, the inter-faces are captured as images, attributes and functions are extracted and processed through pattern recognitions mechanism to be stored into several temporary tables corresponding to each client’s graphical user interface. These tables will be analyzed and processed into one integrated normalized table eliminating any attribute redundancies. Further, the normalized the one integrated table is to create a class diagram.

Problem statement: Usually, we want to represent the final computer aided drawings in a detailed characterization of the design geometry. In some cases, the final design is corrupted with additional geometry parameters, which are not part of the problem, and lack of dimensions. We need an automatic approach to resolve this issue. Approach: Here, we develop a toolkit, which integrates SIEMENS NX8 and C++, to improve the characterization process for 2D geometries. Results: We applied the tool to several different 2D cross-sections and proved that we were able to removal the unwanted parts from the geometry and apply the proper dimensions and constraints to the geometry. Conclusion: This makes the 2D geometry characterization process faster and user-friendly.

Eliminating Gibbs phenomenon, which occurs during design of Finite Impulse Response (FIR) digital filter and which is undesirable, is very important in order to provide expected performance from digital filter. Window functions have been developed to eliminate these oscillations and to improve the performance of the filter in this regard. In this work, an application was developed for designing window function using LABVIEW which is a graphical programming environment produced by National Instruments. LABVIEW offers a powerful programming environment away from complexity. In this work, the performances of cosh and exponential window functions, which are designed by using the possibilities of LABVIEW in programming, are examined and the situations that will occur under various conditions are compared.
