4. Outputs: Support available for designing climate change strategies and investment plans, programming and other related products Capacities strengthen for integrating CC risks and opportunities into national development assistance

Areas of Work International Negotiations Assist participating countries to understand and meaningfully participate in the international climate negotiations, including at major events such as those held in Cancun in late 2010 and Durban in late 2011 Provide trainings, relevant briefing materials, and technical reports Climate Finance Providing support to build capacities in the countries to imrpove their ability to access and absorb existing and emerging climate finance opportunities (Adaptation Fund, National Climate funds…) Integrating Climate into Development Assisting governments to ensure their national development plans and policies adequately integrate climate change to ensure development in LDCs is both low-carbon and climate resilient.

Key activities Providing advice and support to key governmental stakeholders to better understand climate change finance/NIE Technical support for NAPA implementation Strengthening of institutional frameworks at national and sub-national levels Contributing to and supporting the development of national climate change and REDD+ strategies (NCCSAP, National REDD+ Strategy and Action Plan) Mainstreaming the CC into formulation of the UNDAF Promoting the dialogue between the different national institutions and involving other ministries than the ministry of environment in CC issues Assist government identify potential sources of funds for NAPA projects Provide relevant information and guidelines on NAMA for Government
