4. Word Clouds or Tag Clouds are Visual Representations of Text The words are “weighted” – this means the words that appear most, will be Larger & more prominent.

6. How do I create a word cloud? Find an article, a poem or story that you like on the Internet OR, You can write your own poem, story or article in WORD. (Save it to Student Files)

7. Go to the site http://worditout.com/word-cloud/make-a-new-one (This looks like a hyperlink, but it’s not – Use the hyperlink I put on weebly)

8. You can press “RANDOM” to change the look of your word cloud

9. This is what the site looks like. Choose the CREATE tab.

10. Where is the text you want to use? Find the text you want to you Cut & paste it into the worditout box

11. Press the Green Button

12. Here it is! What are your most Prominent Words?

13. Press SAVE Create a Title Add a Description Related Web Page: Did you get the written information from a website? If you did, cite it Enter the following email address: lesterdwilson@gmail.com (Yes, I know LDW, but AMS is not a person’s name!- Besides, I think the name Lester is funny! Press OK

14. Important Step! Click on the link – Then download the word cloud Save to “student files” – Use your firstname & lastname as the filename Put the worditout on one of your website pages
