5. Respecto a mi educación, tengo
un Bachillerato en Periodismo y
Ciencias Políticas de Roosevelt
University, en Chicago.
Empecé como un tutor de Inglés
en St. Augustine College durante
el semestre de otoño del 2011.
Esta es una institución bilingüe
(Español e Inglés) para
educación superior la cual fue
diseñada para servir a los
estudiantes cuyo primer idioma
es el Español. Yo di tutoría
principalmente a los estudiantes
que tomaron las clases de
estructura del Inglés.

6. Yo empecé como reportero del City
News Bureau of Chicago y trabaje
por cuatro años. Después, trabaje
por 11 años en Pioneer Press
Newspapers (parte de Sun-Times
Media). Sun-Times Media, que
publica el Chicago Sun-Times.
Esta compañía fue a la bancarrota
y muchos empleados quedamos
sin trabajo en 2010.
Así que me reinventé. Quedé
pensando qué debía hacer
profesionalmente. Meses de
introspección, adecuación de las
cualificaciones, y oración me
llevan a enfocarme en la
enseñanza de Inglés.
Yo estoy fluente en español y soy
bien preparado para ayudarse.

7. Lo que aprendí de sesiones de
tutoría con un estudiante
mexicano de 23 años de edad
en al Albany Park Community
Center en Chicago, fue que
cuando existe un grado de
comprensión mutua entre al
maestro y estudiante se crea
una conexión ideal entre los
dos. En el caso de mi
estudiante aja, ya conocía su
idioma, y me dio la oportunidad
para enseñar Inglés con mayor
eficacia. Fue muy gratificante
para ver el progreso que hizo en
el tiempo que estuve con él.

 Provided varying degrees of English tutoring for Ecuadorian immigrants – family members and friends –
who have arrived here over the years since the early 1990s; English/ESL Tutor, Albany Park Community
Center, July through November 2011; St. Augustine College, 2011 fall semester through 2012 fall
semester.
 Took two semesters of Spanish (and made two trips to Ecuador) while attending Harold Washington
College between 1989 and 1991. Have gone well beyond those rudimentary lessons since then through
immersion and daily use with wife, friends, relatives, and peers.
