2010 Marketing Trends Survey
Email and Social Media Marketing Are Top Areas of Investment in New Year

A new StrongMail survey conducted by Zoomerang from November 17 to November 25, 2009 reflects
the attitudes of more than 1,000 business leaders in regards to their planned marketing budgets, preferred
marketing channels, social media adoption and anticipated customer revenue in 2010. The data identifies
that the vast majority of businesses plan to increase or maintain budgets in the New Year, with email
marketing and social media as the top two areas of investment. The survey also shows that businesses
are optimistic about how much their customers will spend.

The following charts highlight the most relevant and significant data points from the survey. More

Survey Methodology
The StrongMail “2010 Marketing Trends” survey was conducted online by Zoomerang on behalf of StrongMail.
The poll, which gathered feedback from over 1,000 business leaders across a wide range of industries, was
conducted from November 17 to November 25, 2009.

  • 1. 2010 Marketing Trends Survey Email and Social Media Marketing Are Top Areas of Investment in New Year A new StrongMail survey conducted by Zoomerang from November 17 to November 25, 2009 reflects the attitudes of more than 1,000 business leaders in regards to their planned marketing budgets, preferred marketing channels, social media adoption and anticipated customer revenue in 2010. The data identifies that the vast majority of businesses plan to increase or maintain budgets in the New Year, with email marketing and social media as the top two areas of investment. The survey also shows that businesses are optimistic about how much their customers will spend. The following charts highlight the most relevant and significant data points from the survey.   • 5. Survey Methodology The StrongMail “2010 Marketing Trends” survey was conducted online by Zoomerang on behalf of StrongMail. The poll, which gathered feedback from over 1,000 business leaders across a wide range of industries, was conducted from November 17 to November 25, 2009.
