Hawtrey (Max Minghella). Graham is a British intern who has no regard for the feelings of
others. He even insults his team members eg. Constantly calling one of his team members fat.

For example when Billy is in the sauna in the movie, he is joined by a scheming Graham. Graham

In the movie The Good Son, Mark (Elijah Wood) stays with his relatives while his father is away
on business. Throughout the movie, Mark befriends his corrupted cousin Henry (Macaulay
Culkin), who then persuades Mark to perform dangerous tasks. Henry commits hazardous actions,

Movie ratings are biased and broad, but they are good guidelines for parents. Many parents base if
their child can view a movie off of the rating a movie obtains. However, movie ratings are no
longer important. The MPAA was created for parents to know what their kids are watching. Kids
are going to be exposed to violence, drugs, sex, and foul language through life, not the movies.

The Host: Movie Analysis
The way I see is that Americans are truly the villain in The Host. Americans do illegal, dangerous
actions in Korean, which causes the monster, so Koreans did not like and support how the US
operates in their country. For example, in the opening scene, an American ordered his Korean
subordinate to dump all the dusty bottle into Han river. It is so crazy and irresponsible. Through the

The importance and symbolism of this theme is food. Food is important part of national identity. It
is also an important part of Korean culture. For example, Gang Do worried that his daughter might
not have anything to eat. Huyn Seo and Se–joo discussed what they will eat after getting out the
sewer. At the end, Gang Do and Se Joo (his new son) are at the food home. They were watching
television and eating the dinner. However, Se Joo said that there is nothing good on the the news
and asked his father to turn off the TV. Then, they can enjoy their dinner. I think it is the message
that the director wants to send to Korea. Koreans should focus and remain the culture of South
Korean instead of consuming America culture.
The film handle humor and horror sides by Gang Do character. The conversations between Gang
Do and other characters are often funny. There are multiple scenes that Gang Do make audiences
to go for a laugh even there are serious scenes. For example, when the family was at a memory for
the monster's victim, they were crying at her picture. That scene makes audiences to feel sorry or
terrible, but it also makes audiences to laugh. The point of blending humor and horror is dialogues.

Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a child psychologist involved in an experimental
project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from
their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like
you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside a young child, whose main concern seems to be
a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright
blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow.
This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All color is brighter in this dreamlike world.
Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean
was able to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about
entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma with the goal of discovering the
location of his most recent captive.

Genre theory is used to study films and put them into a classification so that audiences know what
type of film it is before they see it. Genres are categories based on the story of the film, sometimes
the actors and actresses, or even the directors. All films fall under a genre or sub–genre category.
Romantic Comedy is an example of a genre which is light–hearted, humorous story involving people
in love, sometimes overlapping with subgenres such as screwball comedy teen comedy, or gross–out
comedy. ( Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2014, table 4.1). This paper will focus on the romantic comedy
genre and movie Rocky. It will take a better look at the specific conventions of this genre and how

I will be analysing two very different types of documentary, 'Dogtown and the Z–Boys', which takes
the role of being a full length movie type documentary, and 'Teenage Transsexuals' which was

'Dogtown and the Z–Boys' is a documentary which takes a look at the transformation of surfing into
skateboarding. The film follows the evolution of skating through it's heyday in the 70's, to it's
decline in the 80's, and then back upto it's popular return in the 90's. It also follows the Zephyr team,
a high profile surf/skate club which revolutionised the skating industry right upto the present day.

personal. The narrator hypes up what otherwise be quite a dull and unexciting film by using
exaggeration and sarcastic humour in some places.
The documentary is informative, as the reader would otherwise probably not be aware of 'Dogtown
and the Z–Boys'. But it informs in an entertaining fashion with a popular, interesting soundtrack and
an original editing/camera technique.

just starting out. This is unseen observation because the camera is ignored by the people taking part

characters. Moana however, wears a bold red shade. This is significant as not only is it not
considered a feminine color, but it is a color associated with bravery and heroism. Disney's
decision to place Moana in red, matches with the text provided on the movie poster. The poster
itself is mostly three colors: the blue of the sea, Moana's red clothing, and the white text. Focusing
on the background of the poster, the blue is significant in itself. Blue is heavily considered to be a

Mehta's Films The film Water (2005) was hard for me to watch. The social status of females that are
widows was a heartbreaking, emotional and psychologically damaging. Chuyia, is an 8–year–old

in an ashram– a place for widows– these widows are to live here due to her sins being the reason

I've seen this movie and I would like to give my opinion about it. The impossible is a movie based
on a true story. This story is about a family, Maria, Henry and their three sons Lucas, Thomas and
Simon. They went on Christmas vacations to Thailand but after a few days the Indian Ocean
earthquake created a tsunami that flooded the area with overwhelming destructive power.

were sent away with the rest of the kids that were alone even though Henry had to leave them so it
could be easier for him to look for Maria and Lucas I think it was a very hard decision because he

I really enjoyed the movie because it is a true story. It shows us how your life can change in a blink
of an eye. We don't have anything guaranteed that's why it's important to enjoy what we have and not

However, now Neiman's gradual spiral into an obsession for greatness has driven him to breaking
point. The car crash scene is the turning point in Nieman's character. His pursuit of perfection and
greatness has blinded him. At this point Neiman has lost his old self completely, his dialogue is
arrogant and hostile, he no longer cares for his band members or anything apart from greatness.
His gradual change of behaviour is evident through his dialogue 1:03:28 when Nieman is on the
telephone to one of his band members, he starts cursing and using profane language, similarly to
Fletcher. Drumming has become his life, he is no longer concentrated on being a good person
instead he is focused on being remembered, as demonstrated after the car accident, Nieman is
determined to succeed and please Fletcher, thus continuing to play. As he plays every excruciating
beat, his blood drips onto the drum set; representing the pain that he is willing to go to achieve
success. Neiman's madness is stopped by Fletcher's two words: "You're done". Along with lighting
and dialogue, the volatile and manipulative relationship between Fletcher and Nieman is explored
through Chazelles use of cinematography.

Danny attempts to impress Sandy by jumping over hurdles but he trips and falls, but Sandy runs

The movie В«12 Years a slaveВ» is based on the book В«12 Years a SlaveВ» by Soloman Northup.
It's his life story of how he got lured in a trap and kidnapped in 1841. It's about how he was sold into
slavery in the south, and what happened during those 12 years a slave .
The movie was released in 2013, but the book was first published in 1853. The setting of the movie
was in the US, mostly in the states New York and Louisiana.
The film was directed by Steve McQueen, he's also known for directing the movies
В«HungerВ»(2008) and В«ShameВ»(2011).
I would say that this movie is an example of the genre drama. It's a historical drama film. That is a

He and others are then put on a boat to Louisiana where they're sold. Soloman is sold to a
plantation owner for 1000$, and is sent with him to his home. He works there for quite a while,
but there's a conflict between him and one of the В«MastersВ» there, which makes him have to
leave to another plantation to work. There's a lot of complications, and he's in the middle of a lot
of it. He meets different persons, and one of them is the savior to his 12 year lasting hell. There is a
man who helps free Soloman from slavery, who helps him become a free man again.
The movie takes up a lot of subjects. One obvious is slavery. There is also discrimination of women
and human trafficking.
When one of the plantation owners talk down to his wife, and treats her like she has nothing to say
about stuff, it shows how he thinks of her as less than himself. He discriminates her infront of the
slaves.
Human trafficking is because that's what they've did when they kidnapped Soloman and brought him
somewhere else to sell him as a slave.
The plot is not presented in a chonological way. It starts off with him as a slave, and then it goes
back to how he actually became one.
I found to symbols that I remember most. The first one is when he breaks the violin that he's
written his familys name on. I take that as a symbol of him loosing hope. Giving up. He no longer
believes he'll get home again, safe with his family.

I had just gotten off work and I was running around frantically trying to find the perfect outfit for a
movie date, I didn't want to be too dressed up, but also not in a t–shirt and shorts, like I usually am.
My parents wouldn't let me leave until they got to meet Garrett, the guy who was taking me out
to the movies. I was super nervous they weren't going to like him because of his interests. So I
send Garrett a text saying that my parents wanted him to come into the house so they could meet
him. My dad is very blunt and doesn't know how to control himself sometimes, but I asked him to
be nice and if he had any comments to keep them to himself, and thankfully, he did, but he snuck
in "what? Does he need a pair of your jeans?" right before Garrett walked through the front door.
Garrett is a guy who wears skinny jeans everyday, literally, everyday and he has curly shaggy hair,
which I think suits him perfectly.
It was completely silent majority of the car ride, besides the music playing the background. I think
it would have been a little less awkward if we had the same music tastes, but unfortunately, we did
not. He is into screamo songs, and I'm more into hip/hop and pop. We talked a little here and
there, and finally arrived to the town Union, where we would be seeing the movie. We got there
super early, like almost an hour early, so we looked up back roads to drive on to waste our time.
