Microsoft社の中で
In 1988, Microsoft manager Paul Maritz sent Brian Valentine, test manager
for Microsoft LAN Manager, an email titled "Eating our own Dogfood",
challenging him to increase internal usage of the company's product. From
there, the usage of the term spread through the company.
Paul MaritzがBrian ValentineというテストマネジャーにEmail
(subject:Eating our own Dogfood)で社内で利用させる事を広めろ的な事
を言った事が始まりらしいです。
これは勝手な解釈ですが「開発に関わる人だけでなく、別のセクションを
含めた、できるだけ多くの社内の人でやってこそ意味がある」と思ってい
る。バグの発見だけでなく改善点が事前にわかる。
