Der Minister für Auswärtiges und für Einwanderung Papua-Neuguineas, Herr Rimbink Pato,
versicherte am Montag, den 02. Mai 2016 in Rabat, dass sein Land den Vorschlag der Autonomie
zwecks der Schlichtung des künstlichen Konflikts um die marokkanische Sahara nachdrücklich
unterstützt.
Herr Pato erklärte anlässlich seines kurzen Aufenthalts im Königreich, dass „Papua-Neuguinea ein
befreundeter Staat mit Marokko ist und dass unsere Position gegenüber der Sahara klarsteht: wir
stehen Marokko in seinen Bemühungen zur Seite zwecks der Beilegung dieses Konflikts“.
Der Minister fügte hinzu, dass „wir Marokko nachdrücklich innerhalb und außerhalb der Organisation
der Vereinten Nationen unterstützen“, ankündigend, dass sein Land beabsichtigt, eine
Honorarbotschaft im Königreich einzuweihen.
Der Minister bestand darauf, dass „Papua-Neuguinea die Position Marokkos im Hinblick auf die
Sahara unterstützt. Wir konzertieren mit Marokko, um eine Lösung für diesen Konflikt zu erzielen“,
darauf hinweisend, dass die Position seines Landes an der Seite Marokkos steht, denn es ist ihm
gelungen, einen Vorschlag der Autonomie in der nordöstlichen Zone des Landes umzusetzen, der
dem Vorschlag des Königreichs ähnlich ist“.
Er erläuterte, dass „sein Aufenthalt in Marokko bezweckt, die bilaterale Zusammenarbeit zu
fördern“, den Willen seines Landes aufbringend, die Freundschaftsbeziehungen und die Beziehungen
zwischen den beiden Völkern sowie zwischen den Regierungen der beiden Staaten zu verstärken, in
dem künftig ein Honorarkonsul im Königreich akkreditiert werden wird.
