 Core type transformer:
for single phase core is a two legged containing low

 Shell type transformer:
for single phase is three legged, containing low and
high voltage winding on central leg.

 Aluminum wire is used for smaller applications.
 Copper winding is used for larger power applications.

plastic cylinder is known as brushing.

 For high voltage stiff leads or bars are used

 This is a single winding transformer.
 It have multiple tapping for low voltage , high
voltage conversion.
 It is smaller, cheaper, lighter and lower losses.
