the students their parts and begin reading the reader’s theater.
Segment Two: Discuss whether the mouse should have left the
cheese alone or did they agree that it was silly to leave the
cheese along because of the song. Discuss the student’s opinion
of the story.

one of the stories.

Segment One: Sing story time songs
Segment Two: Introduce the story, The Cheese, by Margie
Palatini. The students will listen to a recording of the author
reading the story.
Segment Three: Discuss whether the mouse should have left the

cheese along because of the song. Discuss the student’s opinion
of the story.
Segment Four: Introduce the story, Pete the Cat: I Love my
White Shoes, being sure to talk about the author and illustrator.
