The document discusses the editing process for adding effects to shots in a film. For indoor shots, a cool steel effect was used to give a dark, tense feel, while a desert glare effect provided a brighter look. For outdoor shots, only the cool steel effect was used. Settings for specific effects are described, such as decreasing the saturation for outdoor shots and increasing shadows. The document also mentions editing text by uploading fonts and adjusting font size and boldness, as well as changing color levels and saturation for the text frame.

Screen grap of opening sequence
1. Opening sequence screen grabs
Audio for our opening sequence
Production company ident
We uploaded our audio tracks,
created on garage band and
fitted it in accordingly with our
visual shots.
A couple of points along the
audio, it peaked shot we
lowered the decibel output in
areas that required to be less
loud.
We also added EQ to some of
the sound tracks by including a
low pass filter with the piano
solos and using a high pass
filter for the dialog of the
actors.
We uploaded our
company ident,
created in photo
shop and added it to
our opening
sequence. We also
added a shot
underneath that
consisted of the
color white, allowing
for the logo to stand
out against the white
backdrop.
2. Effects added to shots
Editing for effects for shots
Here, we have added certain effects to different
types of shots. For indoor shots we used a
combination of both cool steel (which gave a
dark, tense effect) whilst combining the desert
glare effect (to give a slightly brighter visual
image) for the audience to see.
For outdoor shots we used only the cool steel
effect to give a minor difference between the
two different settings.
For the cool steel effect, I toned down
the amount the effect had upon the
shot. I also reduced the saturation of
the exterior to focus more upon the
characters. Furthermore I slightly
increased the shadow effect to give a
distorted effect on the surrounding
settings.
For the desert glare, the opinions were
more limited so I just decreased the
amount that the effect would take hold
upon the shot.
3. Editing for the text
Effects on certain shots
We gained ideas for a website that gave a
wide variety of opinions for different effects.
We uploaded the font that we wanted and
altered the size and boldness of the font. We
also positioned the text on the frame so that
it wouldn’t intrude on the main film.
We then change the effects upon the
frame by changing the color levels
and by the amount of saturation we
wanted to portray.
