2. What is an audience?
• An audience is where a person or people are
watching a certain thing. For example, if I
were going to make a play or make a movie, I
would need a group of people to be my
audience.
3. Why are audiences important?
• Audiences are important because there was no
audience then the media wouldn’t exist and the
media wouldn’t be as competitive as it is today
which wouldn’t attract more audiences. An
example of this would be if I were going to make
a song, I would need an audience to listen to it
and ask them what they think about it. If there
were no audience for my song, I wouldn’t know
whether they would like it or not.
•

how many views and likes you can get on an Instagram video. An
advantage of statistics would be easier to get views on a vine because
all you have to do is click play. A disadvantage of a YouTube video is it
can have a type of advertisement which would take a lot more time
to view the video and wouldn’t get as much views due to having to
let people wait to watch a single video.
12. Qualitative
Qualitative research is based on opinions and preferences. Qualitative
are film reviews, where as soon as a film comes out, people are who
have watched it are asked to give their opinion on the film and rate it.
Game reviews are similar to movie reviews but as soon as a game comes
out, you would have to give it a review and Fanzine websites which are
websites made by fans for the person that admires them, for example, a
football player. An advantage of game reviews is that you can actually
play the game before it comes out which is called a demo. This gives you
a better option to buy the real game when it officially comes out.
Disadvantages of film reviews are you don’t know whether the film is
going to be a success or not so you would have to find out for yourself.
