What would it be like to be your grandfather? Imagine being situated in the body of a 74-year-old. Grasp his aging challenges and be an elder! After taking off the virtual reality headset, try to cope with an environment inspired by the adventure you’ve just experienced – a prototyped playground for nursing homes. Explore how we physically and emotionally experience the sense of self and other, in both a virtual world and reality and have fun connecting your present life with the aging community.

playground for nursing homes.

6. What is ‘Your 2068 Right Now Aging Adventure?’
Put on the virtual reality headset. You are now situated in the
body and story of Alfred who is 74 years old and experiencing
common changes that come with aging. You, as Alfred, get to
go through his everyday life - meet his family, grasp his
emotions, and…be an elder!
Upon taking off the headset, measure your sensations and the
interactions you have with other participants in a real
environment inspired by the one you’ve just experienced – a
prototyped playground for nursing homes made of buckets,
clothes hangers, ropes, prisms, and brushes.
Through a contrast of how we physically and emotionally
experience sense of self and other, in both a virtual world and
reality, you will gain insights on functionally networking your
present life with the aging community.
