ok, so if we removed the potentiometer from its originial position on the schematic and place it where R3 is (R3 is replaced by thepotentiometer) what problems would occur? All i can think of is that the output would be dependent of course on the resistor value of the potentiometer. I reconstructed the way, i believe, it would look like once the replacement occurs below the originial. Any help would be appreciated! Solution Here , as the gain of the circuit is Vo/Vin = -R4/R3 Now , if R3 is replaced by potentiometer, and if we set a small value of resistance in potentiometer, the gain will be very high but as the output volatge of OP-amp is limited to +15 V the output signal will be chopped off and it will deform the output .
