2. Experiencing a break up with someone you love can be
very traumatic event for some people.
Everyone takes it differently, but there is usually
something that all may experience. This would be
going through the 4 stages of a break up.
3. After a break up you can feel alone as if there is a void
in your life.
Your emotional needs are not being met and you feel
as if you won’t pull through this. What can help you
pull through and move on is recognizing what the 4

4. First:
The first stage is experiencing shock that you are
actually breaking up.
Even if you had a feeling it may happen it does not
lesson the shock you will encounter. The up side is
this stage is easy to overcome so you should move
past it without much difficulty.
5. Second:
The next stage you will experience denial. This
means you are refusing to accept that you really
broke up.
Being in denial is a coping mechanism; it is easy
to pretend nothing has happened instead of
dealing with your true emotions.
If you hang on to denial you will never get out of
this stage. Once you accept the fact you have
broken up it will be easier to move on.
6. Third:
In the 3rd stage you may find yourself getting depressed.
It is normal to be heartbroken or sad over breaking up, but
if you are truly depressed you should see a professional. If
any depression warning signs are detected don’t hesitate to
see your doctor, take depression serious.
Having said that, the chances are you will just have to
overcome your sadness then you can move on.
7. Fourth:
The 4th stage is acceptance and you probably
experienced a lot of emotional times getting here. If you
could have avoided the first three stages to get to this
point it would have been great for you.
Unfortunately that does not happen often. When you
have accepted that it is really over and are ready to
move on with your life you will feel so much better.
