The documentary film "Dilli" documents the evacuation of thousands of homeless people in Delhi who lost their homes due to rampant development and modernization of the city. It highlights the stark contrast between the progress of Delhi and those left homeless. The film won several awards including first place for best short documentary at the Los Angeles Movie Awards. It also highlights the efforts of the Robin Raina Foundation to help underprivileged children and build homes for slum dwellers in Delhi.

4. WHY…???
Sonia Gandhi, Saina Nehwal, and many more stated that
“Delhi” is not yet ready for the CWG….
So, what the purpose to host such an event…???
We almost spend 90,000 crores for it….
But does it worth…???
Thousands of “SLUM-DOGS” lost their homes…
Just one thing “WHY…???”
19. Delhi Common Poverty Game
• The Athens Olympics cost a reported £9.4bn, leaving a
debt of €50,000 for each Greek household. Six years
later, Greece is on the precipice of utter economic
ruin.
• May be we are too going from that faze.
• The event offers the Delhi authorities the chance to
sell the “LIE” of the shining new India. This is a
country which has higher rates of child malnutrition
than sub-Saharan Africa, but which also puts satellites
into space. Now Delhi has spend immense sums on a
sporting event - even diverted funds specifically
earmarked for anti-poverty measures.
20. Delhi Master Plan 2021
• Delhi Governments wants to make Delhi a slum-free city but not
by rehabilitating these exploited wage workers but by driving
them out of the city.
• Delhi will be slum-free in the next 10 years by providing
rehabilitation packages (built-up houses with all civic facilities)
to slum dwellers. For this DDA has identified 23 sites (slum
areas) for rehabilitation.
• Today, the NCR cities are best suited to take the burden of
housing from the national capital. The NCR has a total area of
33,578 sq km and includes parts of three
states, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, with Delhi as a
full state.
• A novel project proposed by DDA, the “in situ” rehabilitation
scheme, moves away from the agency’s previous model of
shifting slumdwellers to the city’s fringes as part of
rehabilitation package. For this, DDA has indentified 23 sites
(slum areas).[But not started yet…]
21. Delhi's Ugly Underbelly:
India Today.in
"Sarkar hi poonjipati hai, aur
poonjipati hi sarkar hai (The
government is the
capitalist, and the capitalist
is the government),“
Almost 49 per cent of Delhi's
residents live in
slums, including resettlement
and unauthorised colonies.
They are
drivers, electricians, plumber
s, peons and domestic helps.
