Before we start!!!
Let’s talk about mobile!
     So I says to her… I says…

Mobile is going to be huge!
Perspective
• Over Christmas 2012
  – Over 17 Million device activations per day
  – 20 million apps downloaded per hour
  – Over 1.7 billion app downloads over the holidays
• $18 Billion in App Generated Revenue
• Mostly from micro transactions (less then 25
  cents)
OMG that IS huge!
Rovio Case study (kinda)

• Angry Birds
• Over $70 Million value
• “over night” success
• Actually…
    – 51 prior attempts
    – 10 years!!!
So you’re ready to build an app?

Too bad, that’s not what I’m going to be talking
                  about here.
Um so what am I talking about?

      Discovering your problem

          Their experience

          Our technology
Defining the problem and
  finding the solution

                  Building
                    the
                  solution
Ask yourself

• What problem am I trying to solve?
• Do people actually care?
• If they do, how will they use your service?
The experience
• How does your customer find you?
• What is it you’re providing them?
• How does your customer find you?
• How are people using your service?
• How does your customer find you?
• Does context matter?
• How does your customer find you?
Discovery
App stores
The Internet
The Customer Experience
Keep this in mind.

90% of mobile user experiences sucks!
Sturgeon’s Revelation

              Theodor Sturgeon

90% percent of everything is crap!
Context matters

 Sometimes :-)
Our Technology

Close, but…
It’s coming
