The research focuses on owners and managers of web radio stations. The managers are usually the decision makers for the monetization of the stationâs content. For this exploratory study, the managers contributed by giving their valuable insights.

Nielsenâs announcement on May audio performance shows the industryâs momentum to rebound from the COVID-19 crisis continues. Radioâs weekly reach is now at 90% of March levels. More than one-half (54%) of consumers indicate they are ready to return to their pre-COVID purchase habits as restrictions in their areas ease.  Heavy radio listeners over-index among those âready-to-goâ and they are âdriversâ of change: âąÂ       41% of heavy radio listeners spent 1hr+ in their vehicle yesterday (vs. 28% a month ago) âąÂ       Heavy radio listeners are more likely than average to start spending across categories within a month âąÂ       Large purchases are on heavy radio listenersâ shopping list. They are more likely (+29%) than average to spend on a major purchase they had postponed, within a month.
