LibQual+ 2022 Results
• 1,357 respondents (65% increase from 2015)
• Assessment Areas:

2022 Results:
Key Findings
• Distance learners/online library users have increased,
doubling from 15.07% of participants in 2015 to 30.98% in
2022
• Participant use of online resources remained steady from
2015 to 2022 but use of resources at the physical
libraries dropped
• Perceptions of quality of service increased significantly in
several areas including: giving users individual attention,
employees who are consistently courteous, and
dependability in solving problems
• Perceptions of the Libraries’ role in information literacy
increased significantly
• Faculty perceptions of Information Control were below
minimum in 2015. In 2022, this area increased to above the
minimum for faculty
• Undergraduate students’ perceptions of group study space
increased significantly from 2015-2022

Introducing the Community Advisory Board
The mission of the Community Advisory Board is to promote the interests of and
secure financial support for the Old Dominion University Libraries and to serve as
an advocate for the value of the Libraries to the university, the larger Hampton
Roads community, and potential donors. Specifically, the Board strives to:
1. Assist in securing funds for the Libraries…
2. Promote interest in the Libraries… and promote a fuller understanding of the
role of the modern academic library in higher education
3. Assist the University Libraries in publicizing its resources, services, and
programming
4. Encourage gifts of unique and/or high value materials to Special Collections and
University Archives…
5. Recruit new members to the Friends of the Libraries and the Community
Advisory Board and advise the Dean of Libraries on membership decisions

  • 5. LibQual+ 2022 Results • 1,357 respondents (65% increase from 2015) • Assessment Areas: • Library Use • Affect of Service • Information Control • Library as Place • Information Literacy • Performing as well as or better than peers despite fewer staff and less funding
  • 6. LibQual+ 2022 Results: Key Findings • Distance learners/online library users have increased, doubling from 15.07% of participants in 2015 to 30.98% in 2022 • Participant use of online resources remained steady from 2015 to 2022 but use of resources at the physical libraries dropped • Perceptions of quality of service increased significantly in several areas including: giving users individual attention, employees who are consistently courteous, and dependability in solving problems • Perceptions of the Libraries’ role in information literacy increased significantly • Faculty perceptions of Information Control were below minimum in 2015. In 2022, this area increased to above the minimum for faculty • Undergraduate students’ perceptions of group study space increased significantly from 2015-2022

Introducing the Community Advisory Board The mission of the Community Advisory Board is to promote the interests of and secure financial support for the Old Dominion University Libraries and to serve as an advocate for the value of the Libraries to the university, the larger Hampton Roads community, and potential donors. Specifically, the Board strives to: 1. Assist in securing funds for the Libraries… 2. Promote interest in the Libraries… and promote a fuller understanding of the role of the modern academic library in higher education 3. Assist the University Libraries in publicizing its resources, services, and programming 4. Encourage gifts of unique and/or high value materials to Special Collections and University Archives… 5. Recruit new members to the Friends of the Libraries and the Community Advisory Board and advise the Dean of Libraries on membership decisions
