listen to modern day rap and hip hop. This type of music helps me as a person think more creatively.
My mom, on the other hand listens to country music as she is driving. When she listens to country
music, she becomes more relaxed. When I need to listen to relaxing music, I listen to more
classical music. Classical music helps relax me due to playing the flute for 4 years. As I am
studying I listen to classical music through my headphones. My ADHD has made me struggle

My Favorite Sport Of Volleyball
We've all had to answer this question before, what's your favorite thing? We can answer that pretty
easily because it's something that's special to us. Whether it's playing or watching your favorite sport
or having a favorite stuffed animal, it's something that we will always cherish. There are multiple
reasons why that favorite thing is important, and we will never forget them.
The rush of adrenaline you get right when your feet hit that court is like nothing else. That's why my
favorite thing is the sport of volleyball. I have played this sport from a young age so it has been all I
have ever known. The sport is unique because it incorporates skills that you must practice over and
over to become perfect at. The team atmosphere is something I love about the sport. The feeling
that the other five teammates on your side of the net have your back. This sport is impossible to
succeed at if only one player isn't committed to the whole team goal. That's why team–bonding
comes into play on and off the court. I remember having team dinners the night before every game. I
would sit by my teammates talking about the game we had tomorrow, while eating loads and loads
of that ooey gooey mac and cheese. My team would also do secret–sister before games. I would pick
another player on my team to get me some quick snacks. I would then write her a note giving her
encouragement for the game the next day. When I read the note from my teammate it was the best
feeling in the whole world knowing that my friend had confidence in me to play my best game.
Not only were the girls on my team an inspiration to me but also the coaches that sat on the
sideline during every match, and every practice. My coaches through my 9 years of volleyball
have taught me an enormous amount of lessons. My coaches became mentors for the sport I love
but also for life. I was taught many lessons from my coaches over the years that could be used for
later on. For example, when I was playing on my club volleyball team at 12, I remember struggling
to serve the ball over the net. My coach told me that I wasn't going to be perfect at that skill the
first time I tried it. It would take multiple practices in the gym to meet my goal. That was a lesson I

This was my favorite day of the year; it was a day where being a selfish child was allowed without
getting reprimanded by adults. This day is a birthday, my birthday.
Every year, I eagerly waited for this special day to occur, anticipating the delicious chocolate chip
cookie cake, the latest toys I might receive, and the looks on my family's faces as their smiles were
illuminated by my happiness. I never appreciated times like those, as much as I should have,
because one day it all changed. The date was June 3, 2010, my eighth birthday. I woke up to the
sound of my grandparents singing happy birthday to me, and at that moment, I knew. I lept out of
bed and raced out of my room. On the floor, outside the door was a note from my mom. It said,
"Hi sweetie, happy birthday! I'm sorry I cannot be here when you wake up on your special day, but
I am at the hospital having the baby. See you later! I love you. Love, Mommy."
I immediately burst into tears. Knowing that I would have to share my favorite day of the year
with a baby, who probably needed more attention than me, tampered with my eight year old mind.
I started to question if people would remember it was my birthday too, or if I would still be able to
pick my favorite restaurant to go to for dinner, or if we could have my favorite chocolate chip cookie
cake. I decided to refrain from lingering in my thoughts, and instead, got myself ready to conquer
this "terrible" day, and went downstairs. I hung out with my sister for a while, and opened a
couple of presents, which kept me content. Subsequently, my grandpa left for work, while my
grandma took my sister and I to Starbucks. I was calm and collected until my thoughts caught up
to me. I realized I will never have my own birthday again. It will always be shared, and I was not
happy. I knew, that this day would now be my least favorite day of the year.
By now, I was crying again. I kept thinking about how my birthday is truly a memorable day for
me, and I just had to have it my way, on its own, tailored to my liking. My grandma was not quite

English Has Never Been My Favorite Subject Essay
English has never been my favorite subject. I have always been great at writing, but reading was
very difficult for me all throughout grade school. I could read just fine, but when it came to
reading comprehension problems I would completely blank out. I never really understood how to
comprehend stories or articles until this class. When I first saw the syllabus, I was afraid because
this whole class was to mainly read some sort of literature, understand the story fully, then write
about it in depth. I guess you could say I really didn't know how to think analytically until this class.
Literature is categorized by quite a few genres. The largest categorized genres are fiction, poetry,
and plays. In those categories, there are genres like tragedy, crime fiction, narrative and the list goes
on. The point is that there are a lot of genres and it's so fascinating to read and write about all the
genres in literature. Reading literature is pretty simple. You just have to understand what you are
reading. Writing about literature can be a little trickier. To write three to four full pages, you must
really understand what you are writing about. Therefore, you must do a lot of research. It helped me
a lot to make an outline, then research to make all the points in my essay. When students peer edited
my essay, it was very helpful because they pointed out mistakes that I would have never seen. They

This might be the hardest question for me to answer. What's my favorite movie? Like books, a
movie is another way to connect with fictional characters and it really is hard to choose your

My Favorite Class Essay
My favorite classes this year were Mrs. Menzel's two english classes. I have learned so much
about myself as a reader, student, and an intellectual. Through both of her classes, we were given
endless amounts of opportunity. What I mean by this is, we got to choose our own topics to
study, books to read, and subjects to write about. We were truly treated like adults, which in my
eyes, helped prepare us for the "real world". Her willingness to let us grow as individuals was
very inspiring, because she believed that we could do it on our own, with a little push whenever

discovered that Jodi Picoult might be my favorite author as of now. Also, I realized that writing is

Personally, her two classes have helped me grow as a speaker, writer, and reader. In her CCC
class, I was able to write a profile on my dad, which really strengthened my relationship with him.
After printing him a copy, and seeing tears in his eyes made me very grateful for this experience
to share with him how much of a role model he is to me. In her English Lit class, I was able to ask
my grandma and mom what books they would recommend for me. Having these conversations
with them made their hearts warm, since I was showing interest in books for once (they are both
book lovers). Her class pushed me to be the best that I can, and it wasn't for the grade that I got. It
was for learning about myself, and what I was capable of. That's when I learned that her classes
are actually changing me as a student. For an example, when I was working on a project, I wasn't
basing every single sentence on what the rubric told me to do. I was branching out and working on
it because I truly wanted to learn more about the topic and put my all into it.
Thankfully, I have matured a great amount as a student because of Mrs. Menzel and her life
lessons through teaching, and by just being herself. I truly feel ready for college now because of

Ever since I could remember, my favorite class as fluctuated from year to year until I reached
high school. In elementary school, I dreaded science class because coming up with a topic for the
science project was frustrating. When I was younger, I enjoyed language arts class primarily for
the grammar lessons and discussion lectures on books, but in high school, keeping up with the

time this is a very tricky question for people to answer, simply because there are so many viable

I am an avid reader and reading has been my favorite hobby for a great deal of my life. This is
probably because my parents value literacy and they have almost always encouraged me to read.
The exceptions being when I am supposed to be doing something else, such as completing

The focus of my essay is my favorite year. At 16, what could cause a girl to feel like this is the
best year of her life? There are three reasons that make this my best year. The first reason is

Considering I have yet to visit all 50 states maybe it isn't fair to say I have a "favorite state ", but I
can say New York is my favorite state thus far. New York houses roughly 8.5 million people,

My Favorite Toy Essay
When all of us were little children, we have all been playing with toys. They are those objects,
which do things to please us, keep us from boredom, and makes us begging our parents to get more
of them. There are millions of them, from some just spinning around, to some having high–tech
features, and to some which don't do anything! As little children, we thought some of the toys were

My Favorite Trip
Last year, my mother took a trip to Italy for an entire month. While in Italy, she had the chance to
see many fascinating things including the Roman Coliseum. She visited the most beautiful beach
on the Caribbean Sea with white sand and crystal clear water and while swimming there, she got
to see a rare species of fish called the Parrotfish. Rome, Florence, and Venice were just some of the
many places she visited while on her Italian trip. While in Rome, she bought a replica of the Roman
Empire's old battle helmets and stood outside of the coliseum to take a picture. She tasted authentic
Italian cuisine including the Italian version of my favorite food, Bacon Cheese Fries. When she
came back home, she told me all about the culture of Italy and told stories that she heard from the
locals. She said that the way they live there is very different from here in America. I want to take a
trip to Italy so I can take a picture with and explore historic landmarks that Italy is known for, I
want to taste authentic Italian cuisine from its natural place, and I want to take a fishing trip to the
Mediterranean Sea to catch exotic fish .

the Leaning Tower of Piza because of how the structure leans to one side and it's unlike any

a story that can be a fictional story or a real event, depending on who you ask. For example, you
could ask a non religious man about the myth of "Zeus" and he might say that an event like that
could never happen. Then, you could ask a religious man about it and he might say that it really
did happen. No one knows, this is because myths are usually based on old times. This means that no
one can prove or debunk these myths properly. With that being said, I will now talk about one of my
