Target Questions Did these woman face male repression? Did these woman originally have a career in politics? Did these woman have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression?
Indira Gandhi
What: At a young age she became the leader of the Monkey Brigade   Later on she became the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Eventually she became the Prime Minister of India
When: ,[object Object]
1938, Indira joined the Indian National Congress Party
Afterwards in 1942, she married journalist Feroze Gandhi
Her first and only imprisonment lasted from September 11, 1942 until May 13, 1943
1959, Gandhi became the fourth woman elected president of the Indian National Congress
In 1966, Indira Gandhi served as prime minister,[object Object]
Why: As prime minister, Gandhi tried to improve the lives of Indians. She believed her short dictatorship was good for the people.
The Target Questions Answered Did Indira Gandhi face male repression?  As far as we can tell she faced repression same as the other woman but not to a scale in which it is commonly known Did Indira Gandhi originally have a career in politics? Yes, she has always been involved in political movements, since the young age of 12 Did Indira Gandhi have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression?  She did have some trouble in her background during the Independence movement happening during her childhood.
Ella Koblo Gulama
What she did Parliament Chief Member of the Moyamba District Council House of Representatives of Sierra Leone as Paramount Chief Member for Moyamba District (first woman to do so) Cabinet Minister in government of Sir Milton Margai Primer Minister (first woman to do so)
When Ella was born 26 January 1921 and died 10 September 2006 She graduated Harford for girls in 1938, graduated from collage in 1941. Succeeded her father as parliament chief in 1953. In 1957 became member of the Moyamba district council and was also chosen as a member of House of Representatives of Sierra Leone as Paramount Chief Member for Moyamba District (she was the first female to do so), she was re-elected to parliament and then appointed a Cabinet Minister in government of Sir Milton Margai President of the Federation of Women’s Organizations in Sierra Leone from 1960 to 1967, and President of the National Organization for Women (Sierra Leone) from 1985 to 1991.

Why: As a child she was considered troublesome, she always did what was necessary to protect herself even after she succeeded her father, and even once she started her political career she was still fighting for herself, this time though it was for her right to be there.
Target Questions Answered Did Ella Koblo Gulama face male repression? Yes, she faced slight repression during her campaigning. She was the first woman to do a lot of things in her country, so there is always those who oppose new ways and changes of things. Did Ella Koblo Gulama originally have a career in politics? Yes, she was involved with politics since her graduation of college and spent almost all of her career working with politics Did Ella Koblo Gulama have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression?  No more then most children of her country, she learned to stick up for herself during these times and never forgot how as she got older
Who: Muriel McQueen Fergusson
What: Appointed to the Senate,  Appointed Speaker of the Senate (first woman to do so),   Sworn to the Privy Council,  Officer of the Order of Canada,   First woman elected to the Fredericton City Council, First woman deputy mayor of that city 
When: Born in Shediac, New Brunswick on May 26, 1899 Graduating from Mount Allison University in 1921,   She took over her fathers law practice 1942, Appointment to the Senate of Canada in 1953,  1953 first female Speaker of the Senate,
Where: Shediac, New Brunswick
Why: She like so many other people, followed her heart which led her career. She did this so she felt fur filled in her life.
Target Questions Answered Did Muriel McQueen Fergusson face male repression? Yes, she grew up in a very traditional house hold, her mother did not believe that woman needed a higher education, and most certainly not when they all ready had a husband lined up for them. She was sure to have received repression during her time running for and in office as well. Did Muriel McQueen Fergusson originally have a career in politics? No, she originally had a career in Law and some how mad her way into politics. Did Muriel McQueen Fergusson have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression? No she did not have any kind of troubled background.
Who: Isabel Perón
What: Third wife of Juan Peron Isabel Peron  Vice President  Became 1st women president, by that of a death
When: Born February 4, 1931 She was Vice President for 9 months before her husbands death She was President from 1974-1976
Where:
Why: With her husbands death she was given the opportunity and reason to get up to these stances and go for the position
Target Questions Answered Did Isabel Perón face male repression?  Not very much acutely, this was not the first female leader Argentina has received, it is how ever the first female non-royal leader they had. Did Isabel Perón originally have a career in politics? No, she was originally a dancer and interred politics due to her husband.  Did Isabel Perón have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression? She faced many trials in her early life, she was not born into a rich family or one that was overly involved with politics.
Mary McAleese
What: Served as a Reid Professor of Criminal Law Worked as a journalist Director and the Institute of Professional Legal Studies Elected first President of Northern Ireland
When: Born 27 June 1951 Became the Director of the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 1987 1974-1997 was the time form when she graduated college to when she was elected president.

  • 2. Target Questions Did these woman face male repression? Did these woman originally have a career in politics? Did these woman have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression?
  • 4. What: At a young age she became the leader of the Monkey Brigade Later on she became the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Eventually she became the Prime Minister of India

  • 6. 1938, Indira joined the Indian National Congress Party
  • 7. Afterwards in 1942, she married journalist Feroze Gandhi
  • 8. Her first and only imprisonment lasted from September 11, 1942 until May 13, 1943
  • 9. 1959, Gandhi became the fourth woman elected president of the Indian National Congress

  • 11. Why: As prime minister, Gandhi tried to improve the lives of Indians. She believed her short dictatorship was good for the people.

As far as we can tell she faced repression same as the other woman but not to a scale in which it is commonly known Did Indira Gandhi originally have a career in politics? Yes, she has always been involved in political movements, since the young age of 12 Did Indira Gandhi have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression? She did have some trouble in her background during the Independence movement happening during her childhood.

  • 15. When Ella was born 26 January 1921 and died 10 September 2006 She graduated Harford for girls in 1938, graduated from collage in 1941. Succeeded her father as parliament chief in 1953. In 1957 became member of the Moyamba district council and was also chosen as a member of House of Representatives of Sierra Leone as Paramount Chief Member for Moyamba District (she was the first female to do so), she was re-elected to parliament and then appointed a Cabinet Minister in government of Sir Milton Margai President of the Federation of Women’s Organizations in Sierra Leone from 1960 to 1967, and President of the National Organization for Women (Sierra Leone) from 1985 to 1991.
  • 17. Why: As a child she was considered troublesome, she always did what was necessary to protect herself even after she succeeded her father, and even once she started her political career she was still fighting for herself, this time though it was for her right to be there.

She was the first woman to do a lot of things in her country, so there is always those who oppose new ways and changes of things. Did Ella Koblo Gulama originally have a career in politics? Yes, she was involved with politics since her graduation of college and spent almost all of her career working with politics Did Ella Koblo Gulama have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression? No more then most children of her country, she learned to stick up for herself during these times and never forgot how as she got older

  • 20. What: Appointed to the Senate, Appointed Speaker of the Senate (first woman to do so),  Sworn to the Privy Council, Officer of the Order of Canada,  First woman elected to the Fredericton City Council, First woman deputy mayor of that city 
  • 21. When: Born in Shediac, New Brunswick on May 26, 1899 Graduating from Mount Allison University in 1921,  She took over her fathers law practice 1942, Appointment to the Senate of Canada in 1953, 1953 first female Speaker of the Senate,

  • 23. Why: She like so many other people, followed her heart which led her career. She did this so she felt fur filled in her life.

Yes, she grew up in a very traditional house hold, her mother did not believe that woman needed a higher education, and most certainly not when they all ready had a husband lined up for them. She was sure to have received repression during her time running for and in office as well. Did Muriel McQueen Fergusson originally have a career in politics? No, she originally had a career in Law and some how mad her way into politics. Did Muriel McQueen Fergusson have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression? No she did not have any kind of troubled background.
  • 26. What: Third wife of Juan Peron Isabel Peron Vice President Became 1st women president, by that of a death
  • 27. When: Born February 4, 1931 She was Vice President for 9 months before her husbands death She was President from 1974-1976
  • 29. Why: With her husbands death she was given the opportunity and reason to get up to these stances and go for the position
  • 30. Target Questions Answered Did Isabel Perón face male repression? Not very much acutely, this was not the first female leader Argentina has received, it is how ever the first female non-royal leader they had. Did Isabel Perón originally have a career in politics? No, she was originally a dancer and interred politics due to her husband. Did Isabel Perón have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression? She faced many trials in her early life, she was not born into a rich family or one that was overly involved with politics.
  • 32. What: Served as a Reid Professor of Criminal Law Worked as a journalist Director and the Institute of Professional Legal Studies Elected first President of Northern Ireland
  • 33. When: Born 27 June 1951 Became the Director of the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 1987 1974-1997 was the time form when she graduated college to when she was elected president.
  • 35. Why: To go against the male repression that was a round her and manage to win the heart of her people
  • 36. Target Questions Answered Did Mary McAleese face male repression? Yes, when she was starting out her political career she faced repression, it took her many years to over come this repression but eventually she made her way past this repression and into the hearts of her people. Did Mary McAleese originally have a career in politics? No, before she interred politics she was a journalist and announcer for RTÉ. Did Mary McAleese have troubled backgrounds do to any kind of repression? Yes, during her childhood she and her family were forced to flee the country, manly due to the violence that was happening during this time.
