WORK EXPERIENCE :
 Chairman at the Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID), responsible for:
~ Setting up fundraising systems and conduct fundraising for a variety of developmental
projects and programs with a diverse range of donors and other funding entities.
~ Managing relationships with donors and development partners in Namibia and the
SADC region.
~ Designing and implementing development programs across the SADC region with a
variety of development partners and donors.
~ Complying with donor requirements and strategy development, which also includes the
preparation of proposals, budgets, workplans, logical frameworks and accounting
systems and adherence thereto.
~ Sourcing development partners for joint programs and managing relationships with
them.
~ Representing the NID on a number of national, regional and international fora.
 Anti-Corruption and M&E specialist currently conducting specific assignments on
consultancy basis for various institutions:
~ Chief compiler of the Namibian National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NAS), in
cooperation with the Anti-Corruption Commission. In this process, I also coordinate
and provide leadership to a team of experts who provide input. This project is funded
by UNDP.
~ Contributing, as part of an expert group, to the development of a Guide on Anti-
Corruption Strategies, coordinated by UNODC.
~ Supporting the Commonwealth Africa Anti-Corruption Center in compiling and writing
a comparative analysis of best anti-corruption practices by Anti-Corruption Agencies in
Commonwealth African countries. This project is funded by the UNODC.
~ Developing a logframe and M&E plan for a political party training program in Namibia,
funded by the Hanns Seidel Stiftung.
 August 1995 – December 2014:
Executive Director at the Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID) (www.nid.org.na)
specifically tasked with overall strategic guidance by objectives, high level negotiation
and liaison with government institutions, political parties, international donors, private
sector and Namibian civic organizations, fundraising, sourcing, design, planning and
implementation of a variety of multi-partner, multi-donor democracy and governance
programs with stakeholders on grassroots, government and civil society level in a results-
oriented manner.
Responsibilities include:
~ Strategic and Operational planning, co-ordination, supervision and control of all NID
projects, staff and their activities
~ Responsibility and control of all financial and legal aspects pertaining to requirements
of the Companies Act
~ Liaison and negotiation with various ministries and governmental departments,
regional and local authorities, the media, embassies, other NGO's, trade unions, the
private sector, rural communities and donors
~ Project proposals and fundraising with a variety of donors
~ Monitoring and Evaluation
~ Reporting to donors, stakeholders, development partners and Board
~ Research

various Non-Governmental Organisations throughout Namibia, funded by USAID and

Page 2 of 6 WORK EXPERIENCE :  Chairman at the Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID), responsible for: ~ Setting up fundraising systems and conduct fundraising for a variety of developmental projects and programs with a diverse range of donors and other funding entities. ~ Managing relationships with donors and development partners in Namibia and the SADC region. ~ Designing and implementing development programs across the SADC region with a variety of development partners and donors. ~ Complying with donor requirements and strategy development, which also includes the preparation of proposals, budgets, workplans, logical frameworks and accounting systems and adherence thereto. ~ Sourcing development partners for joint programs and managing relationships with them. ~ Representing the NID on a number of national, regional and international fora.  Anti-Corruption and M&E specialist currently conducting specific assignments on consultancy basis for various institutions: ~ Chief compiler of the Namibian National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NAS), in cooperation with the Anti-Corruption Commission. In this process, I also coordinate and provide leadership to a team of experts who provide input. This project is funded by UNDP. ~ Contributing, as part of an expert group, to the development of a Guide on Anti- Corruption Strategies, coordinated by UNODC. ~ Supporting the Commonwealth Africa Anti-Corruption Center in compiling and writing a comparative analysis of best anti-corruption practices by Anti-Corruption Agencies in Commonwealth African countries. This project is funded by the UNODC. ~ Developing a logframe and M&E plan for a political party training program in Namibia, funded by the Hanns Seidel Stiftung.  August 1995 – December 2014: Executive Director at the Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID) (www.nid.org.na) specifically tasked with overall strategic guidance by objectives, high level negotiation and liaison with government institutions, political parties, international donors, private sector and Namibian civic organizations, fundraising, sourcing, design, planning and implementation of a variety of multi-partner, multi-donor democracy and governance programs with stakeholders on grassroots, government and civil society level in a results- oriented manner.
