The hub in the center represents the place where all of the religions take all of the people. That is a good picture as long as you realize that the common hub of every religion is hell. 3. The word religion appears five times in the Holy Bible. Three of the five times Paul uses the word to explain his hopeless condition and how he was vainly working to gain a relationship with God. The fourth time James uses the word he says “religion is vain” if the tongue is not bridled. Matthew 12:34 explains that what a man says comes from his heart. The heart does not refer to the blood pumping organ but the soul of man. The fifth time religion appears in the Holy Bible he is wrapping up an explanation of a relationship and the next verse gives a strong hint how to change from religion to relationship. 4. Repentance Repentance is a change of mind that always leads to a change in life. Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Nowhere in the book is any form of the word repentance found but that does not mean that you do not have to repent to be saved from hell it simply confirms that when you commit your soul to Jesus Christ by faith you have repented. When I was nine years old I was told in Sunday school that if I would keep the Ten Commandments for one week that I would earn heaven. I tried for weeks and gave up. 7. Before trusting Christ as my saviour I had to change what I believed. That is repentance. Turning from sin is the result of the Holy Spirit coming in and cleansing the new believer. He paid it all. When we are saved we come into the family of God, He is our father, and we become His children. The erring child will be disciplined. 32. Relationship When you trust Jesus as saviour God becomes your father, you become his son and a joint heir with Jesus of all that he has. How much of it you take before you go to heaven is up to you. 33. You are hereby put on notice that every son will receive chastening. Religion comes natural. A relationship with God requires regular repentance (changes of mind) and many trips to the altar. The 7 fundamentals of a Christian's daily walk will build your relationships. Holy Bible: tells us how to know him Prayer: tells us how well we know him Faith: tells by our works we know him Spouse: tells our mate we know him Children: tells neighbors we know him Church: tells Christians we know him World: tells the lost how to know him These are the priorities of every Christian listed in order. Priority 7 is the number one goal. If you skip over the relationship priorities to reach the goal the world will see you as a hypocrite and reject your message. 34. Religion comes from Latin and means to bind back. Jesus paid it all. Forget all religion and build a relationship with the one that paid it all and is seated at the right hand of God praying for you and works as your lawyer to the Father. If you do not confess to your advocate, Jesus Christ all your sins he will not be able to properly represent you before the Father because our adversary the devil is accusing us before the Father. I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
