Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Moving house checklist
1. Moving Checklistmore organised = less stress
+ inventory control
move date =
You need this. An absolute move date allows you to work backwards and set goals.
Don’t have one? Use an indicative date, but STICK to it.
4 weeks before move
Tasks MUST be completed by:
FF formally notify your landlord/real estate of intention
to move
FF arrange a property inspection so you can get your
bond back
FF start collecting packing materials - boxes, packaging tape,
string, sharpies. Either purchase (try moving or storage
companies) or save money by asking supermarkets or
greengrocers for boxes
FF complete your inventory control using the attached
template. This will also help for insurace and quoting
purposes. Chances are you’ve accumulated more than
you realise
FF deal with unwanted items. Be brutal - think of it as a time
to cleanse. Sell good quality items on Ebay/garage sale or
give to charity. Dispose of the rest
3 weeks before move

ones) with heavy items.
FF disassemble furniture. All that IKEA flat pack furniture
can be a time suck. Tape all of the screws, hex keys etc to
each item ready for easy reassembly

photos, jewellery, hard drive backups with you on
