The document provides an analysis of the soundtrack from the video game Call of Duty Black Ops 2 zombies origins. It describes how the soundtrack uses computer-generated sounds like a warped nursery rhyme and war siren to set a tense, creepy mood that matches the gloomy setting. Specific production techniques are identified, such as tweaking sounds to make them spookier or coming from a speaker. The narrative scene of children playing is interrupted by the siren, and the soundtrack enhances the tension and eeriness as it dies down after they leave.

been used to create specific soundtrack elements
The setting is in a bedroom of a very gloomy house. In there is a girl and a boy.
During this cut scene a war siren starts alerting people. From this I learnt the
environments must be in a city in which is danger. In addition, the weather is
thundery and lightning. This gives the setting a more of a creepy setting to portray
to the player.
The sound is computer generated and it gives the
motions of a nursery rhyme in which has been
tweaked to give it more of a creepy sound instead
of a comforting sound. I believe the sound
generated really suits the setting as it gives the
feeling of tension and creepiness.
The mood creates a large amount of tension as it is clear in this cut scene that the
place in which the girl and boy are is in distress due to the war siren. Also, the room
is lit only by candle light in which creates an eerie feeling. In contrast, the stormy
weather outside indicates further drama for the player to encounter.
In addition, the sound generated in which sounds
to me like a computer generated nursery rhyme
made to sound creepier really suites the mood as
the mood gives off real amounts of tension
especially when the war siren breaks out. Yet
again the war siren is computer generated. In
contrast, the voice through the speaker says
something along the lines of “Lock all doors and
head down to the basement” The voice is
generated to sound as if it is coming from a
speaker. When this voice comes through the
soundtrack tweaks a little more making it sound
spookier to give the mood a true eeriness.
This soundtrack form Call of duty Blackops
zombies usually gives the same purpose in which
is to create tension.

Narrative
There is a young girl and a boy playing with actions figures in which are zombies.
They seem to have a small argument about which action figure they want to play
with. During this a war siren breaks out and a voice comes through from an outside
speaker saying that they should lock all doors and head down to the basement.
From this it is clear trouble is ahead. Then the boy and girl head downstairs with a
dog leading the way. They then quickly close the door behind them.
The soundtrack really suites the whole scene as it
serves its purpose of creating an eeriness and
tension. In addition, at the end of the scene the
soundtrack dies down to create more creepiness.
I believe that this soundtrack is perfect for this
scene as it truly gives the scene many different
fellings.
