3. The Requirement details:
• Over 7,000 users in Site Manager (LDAP users)
• Some Master data is in LDAP – Email address, Name
etc.
• Want majority of users to have additional Profile info –
Alumni, staff, students.
• Self Service update of some data by user themselves
• Allow user to log in and see their own information and
Media, not others.
• Wanted Admin to approve content, not add content.
• Build search for all profiles using XML.

4. The Solution (with Site Manager):
• Import new/changed user data using scheduled
LDAP import.
• Added fields to the User management section using
Extensible User Object.
• User can login and update their own details –
website, phone, image, pdf, profile data.
• Use My Media – Users own personal Media Library.
• Admin approves Profiles like content (using
Workflow).
• Content is populated into site structure using the
External Content Syncer.
• Once approved, Profiles are published through
filtered search using XML Search.
