Our growth and a changing world brings us to today
The Internet in my opinion is the greatest change mankind has faced.
We are not isolated anymore, we are connected.
Lets reel it back in and talk about our little ecosystem.
People assume everything is connected.
When my wife and daughters need more lives in Candy Crush, they request them from each other thru Facebook.
Candy Crush and Facebook are two totally separate systems but they have this symbiosis.
If you are a Trak1 customer, a partner background check company, you can send a background check request for an employee and get a results back within Enterprise.
Two separate systems but connected
We live in an age where the expectation is these deep connections
We produce and consume data at an unprecedented rate, that is an industry statement that is true every time you say it.
Our hosted services transfer a over 1 TB of data every day to our customers and their users
As of yesterday we maintain over 15TB of hosted data
And currently that is growing about 2 TB every quarter
Growth is a problem because how you architect for a 1 GB database is completely different how you architect for a 2 TB database.
As of today we have several of those.
Let me talk about the growth first.
We need think past the TempWorks architecture that has gotten us thru the last 20 years.
We have to expand our technology beyond a single SQL Server database where all the data resides
We can’t depend on one technology, one database to satisfy everyone’s needs anymore
What are we working on…
As the saying goes, Jack of all trades, master of none.
Although SQL Server can do it all, is it the best at it?
Let use the proper technologies for the tasks at hand.

We are implementing a proper search system
Two in fact -- One for resume search and another for general record searching
(click)
Document storage – We started this a few years ago with SQL Server File streams
But we can do better by taking it out of SQL Server and using dedicated file storage technologies that are better at archiving and storing large amount of files
(click)
Reporting and Data Warehouses that will set us up to do better analytical reporting that will get you those KPIs so you can measure your performance
The less SQL Server has to do, means faster access to your data.
So… How do we bring all this technology together?

APIs … of course
Full and Open APIs for all our technologies (hosted and self-hosted)
A few of you know we already have an API. But… its been an after-thought for the random partner that needed something.
Earlier this year that changed. Our API is now center stage and is just important as any of our products.
Honestly I’ll say it’s more important since our products will shift over to using it.
We need a single pipeline to bring all these new services together.
Over the next couple of years we are transitioning our products to use the TempWorks API, the same one you as a customer or vendor have access to.
As part of our API and connected world push we have a Developer Hub
(click)
All API documentation including code samples
There you’ll be able to sign up for a developer account that will get you access to play with the API using your data (if you are a hosted customer).
Go to developer . tempworks . io to see the current beta version
Besides the easy access the API gives our partners, you as users can take advantage
A few services like…
(click)
If This Then That
Slack
and PowerBI
… can take advantage of our APIs and webhooks to automate workflows or gain insight like never before.
Let expand a little bit on webhooks.
Webhooks are a simple event-notification messaging system that many systems on the Internet have adopted
… And here are some examples of webhook events you can utilize
Created & Updated events for…
Employees
Customer
Assignments
Orders
Messages
Plus many more…
Okay… There has been one more thing going on, co-developed with the API…
We’re building a new 100% mobile, tablet, and desktop TempWorks Web UI.
And I am going to show you a short preview of it.
But before I get started with the preview I wanted to highlight a few of our priorities.
Using the learned experiences of Hire and Connect
Cleaner screens
New search engine
Dedicated Resume search
Quick Info (left-click)
There is an emphasis on "Anywhere Screens" - desktop to tablet to mobile
We’re making Recruiting and CRM a first class citizens.
Okay… Let’s give you a taste to what is cooking.
Oh…. Suggestions
