3. Project Overview The project evaluates the quantities as well as the types of household pharmaceuticals disposed of, in the nine county San Francisco Bay Area in 2009 using current household take-back systems.

Information Collected The evaluation also recorded: the number of take-back sites and events the type of facility that hosts the sites the type of take-back system used in each site the number of pounds collected at each site the type of waste hauling system used the direct disposal costs the method of paying for sites the agency or organization that sponsors each program
