Wind energy:
Julia Matura y Belén Montaña.

          3ºESO B.
How my energy works:
●
Wind is one of the most abundant natural, renewable
resources available. Wind creates emissions-free energy.
●
Diversification of energy sources offers the most viable
approach to greater energy security for our nation.
My energy in the world:
●
"Alpha Ventus," the first German wind park in the North Sea, has become
    home to a new biotope.
●
Spain is the world's third biggest producer of wind power, with a year-end
installed capacity of 21.6 GW and a share of total electricity consumption
    of 15.9% in 2011
●
Wind energy plays an integral role in California's electricity portfolio.
Wind energy in Spain:
●
In 2010, 43,692 GWh of wind electricity was produced in
Spain, with an end of year installed capacity of over 20 GW,
representing 20% of capacity, and 16% of production
Environmental impact:
Climate change:
●
Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical
distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades
to millions of years. It may be a change in average weather
conditions, or in the distribution of weather around the average
    conditions
Global warming:
Global warming is the rise in the average temperature of
Earth's atmosphere and oceans since the late 19th
century and its projected continuation.
Acid rain:
●
Acid rain is a rain or any other from of precipitation that is
unusually acidic, meaning that it possesses elevated
levels of hydrogen ions. It can have harmful effects on
    plants, aquatic animals and infrastructure.
Energy game, wind energy:
The kinetic energy of the wind is one of the easiest sources of renewable FALSE.
energy.
Wind energy is easily available everywhere, especially in seashores and TRUE.
hilly areas.
Wind farms consist of many windmills. TRUE.

Producing electricity energy by using hydroelectric power is limited to FALSE.
geothermal energy areas.
Wind energy generators are noisy and can be destroyed by very strong TRUE.
winds.
A windmill is also a solar turbine. FALSE.

Like water power, wind energy is also an direct form of water energy. FALSE.

Wind energy doesn't produce pollution. TRUE.

Wind energy is available in a few of amounts. FALSE.

Wind is the fastest growing energy sources in the world. TRUE.
Energy game, wind energy:
CO2 adds to the greenhouse effect, causing global warming. TRUE.

Wind can be used to turn a turbine and generate electricty. TRUE.

Renewable Energy Resources will run out. FALSE.

There are ten different types of energy resources. FALSE.

All this three fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) release H2O. FALSE.

Energy resources fit into two board types: RENEWABLE and NON- TRUE.
RENEWABLE.
Non-renewable Energy Resources will run out one week. FALSE.

The non-renewables are the THREE FOSSIL FUELS and NUCLEAR. TRUE.

The electricity we use is generated in big power stations. TRUE.

Petroleum is a renewable source of energy. FALSE.
