intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a
national, ethnic, racial or religious group.

► Eruption of conflict in 2003.
► Civilians have been victimized by the Sudanese government and the Janjawid,
an allied militia

Unknown numbers of women and girls have been abducted, raped and

5. Outreach
►
The Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) and Justice and Equality Movement (JEM)
have been fighting for the people since 2003.
► Amnesty International provided testimony telling the horrors of what was
happening in Darfur in 2004.
► The International Criminal Court (ICC) has been involved in the indictments for
a few arrests of certain leaders of the Sudanese government and the Janjawid.
► Many agencies (Oxfam, Care, Save the Children UK, etc.) have been providing
aid in the form of food and water to people of Sudan.
10 foreign aid agencies have been banned from Darfur, leaving 1.5 million people
without food or water.
6. Ethics
► Unethical behavior by the Sudanese government and the Janjawid.
The Sudanese people are being stripped of their basic human rights as they are
tortured, raped and murdered.
► Agencies who are attempting to help the people of Darfur are behaving
ethically.
