2. In the science of light, a
beam is passed through
a prism and becomes all
colors of the spectrum.
Our story begins with a
lack of color, a lack of
light.
Building through ten
generations, our players
will build color upon
color, eventually leading
to full light.
3. The Legacy Challenge
rules, created by Pinstar
and modified by many,
will be used as
guidelines. However,
there are additional
rules for the family to
follow.
1. Each generation will
be assigned a color:
1 - Gray
2 - Black
3 - Red
4 - Orange
5 - Yellow
6 – Green
7 - Blue
8 - Indigo
9 - Violet
10 - White
4. 2. Each generation will
be required to add at
least one room to the
existing legacy house.
Said room will be
decorated in that
generation’s assigned
color. They may add
more than one, but all
must reflect their color
scheme.
3. Generations may
change the color of the
exterior of the house to
their color, but ONLY if
they can afford to
recolor the entire
exterior.
5. 4. Clothing and hair
should match the
generation’s assigned
color as closely as
possible. It can be
subtle, or glaringly
obvious.
5. Each generation will
have one heir only. If
natural twins occur, the
first born will be heir
and the spare will not be
played once they leave
the main house. They,
in effect, will become
the prodigal child, or
long lost relative.
6. So, without further ado,
let us meet our founder,
Roy Geebiv.
What? You thought his
name would be
something different?
Did you miss the whole
rainbow theme?
Roy is not the most
attractive Sim ever
created, a purposeful
decision on my part.
While this is by no
means an Uglacy, the
pretty Sims get a little
boring, no?
7. Roy moved into a large lot,
not the largest, but large
enough that all he could
afford was this little
shack/room.
It’s not much. Inside is
his bed, a bookshelf, a
phone, a toilet and a
shower head.
Around back is a small
fridge, one counter, and
the grill.
The table is set up for the
Sims3 computer that will
be delivered momentarily,
and there is a chess table
and chairs to the left of
the patio.
8. Roy immediately got to
skill building so he
could get a job and those
all important
promotions.
Now is as good a time as
any to list his stats.
Roy is a Libra Poplularity
Sim with a LTW to have
20 best friends and a
personality spread of
2/8/2/6/7. His OTH is
Arts & Crafts and his
turn ons/turn off are red
hair/cleaning and stink.
He is employed in the
politics career track.
9. One of the Welcome
Wagon members was
Linda Barthelet. Roy
flirted with her and they
had no bolts. They
didn’t really hit it off
either, so she was added
to the list of friends to be
made in the effort to
achieve his LTW.
10. Autumn Dallas, another
member of the Welcome
Wagon, was a better
possibility at one bolt
attraction. Being the
first two women he met
though, he kept his
options open. There was
still time.
11. Roy spent the next few
days dividing his time
between work and
building friendships.
12. His first foray into the
community led him to
friendship with Sandy
Bruty. They had a one
bolt attraction too, but
again, it was early and as
a notorious Romancer,
Sandy was pushed to the
back of the possibility
line for spouse.
13. Back home, he managed
to eat a nasty sandwich
which led to the
inevitable prayer to the
porcelain god and a lot
of complaining about his
comfort level.
14. A comfy lounger was
added to his list of
possessions. It was the
highest comfort piece he
could afford at the time
and he took full
advantage of it.
15. He also had a four-
legged visitor who he
was smart en0ugh to
ignore.
16. Being friends with Sandy
Bruty had its
advantages. One night
Roy was invited to join a
group of her friends on
an outing downtown.
He jumped at the chance
to go meet more people.
17. The group happened to
consist of a bunch of
unimportant Sims who
were added to Roy’s
contact list to help fulfill
his LTW.
18. Roy didn’t remember
many of the small details
of this particular outing
after he had his first
drink at the bar. He was
too confounded by the
lovely vision who mixed
and handed him the
glass filled with fruity
whatever it had been he
ordered.
19. Uma was her name.
(It’s been too long so I
don’t remember her last
name.)
A quick scope and short
conversation revealed
two bolt attraction
between them.
20. For Roy, it was love at
first sight. He tidied up
his small living space.
22. And invited Uma over.
He figured she would be
more comfortable in a
group, so he had a few
other people over at the
same time. After all, he
had hardly had a chance
to speak with her while
he was on his outing.
23. He was quickly
reminded that they had
done nothing more than
spoken a few polite
words to each other
when Uma refused the
hug he approached her
for.
Both she and the rest of
his guests left shortly
thereafter.
24. Not to be daunted, Roy
closed his eyes, relaxed
back in his favorite chair
and re-thought the
situation and his
strategy.
25. After work that evening,
he invited her over
again. This time, he was
much more successful at
building a relationship.
28. Leading to the inevitable
for both of them. Uma
was invited to move in
and accepted.
She is an Aries
Poplularity Sim with a
LTW to own 5 top level
businesses and a
personality spread of
7/6/5/0/7. Her OTH is
Science and her turn
ons/turn off are
fat/black hair and
charisma.
She is employed in the
business career track.
29. The funds she brought
with her allowed for
some expansion of the
indoor living space with
the bedroom and
bathroom now enclosed
in individual rooms and
the small kitchenette
inside. They were also
able to add an open
living room space. All in
all, it was a cute little
cottage and suited their
current needs.
39. WAIT! A HAND-OFF?!
This is not authorized!
Did you not read rule
number 5?! *Headdesk*
*repeatedly*
So, Uma prepared to
deliver their second
bundle of joy.
40. The first born is a little
boy named Obsidian.
He will be heir of the
next generation whose
assigned color is black.
He has his fathers blond
hair and mothers blue
eyes.
41. The black spare, who
will fade into oblivion, is
a little girl named
Ebony. She also has her
fathers blonde hair and
mothers blue eyes.
42. The days were filled with
the usual diaper changes
and bottle feedings,
which are cute the first
time, but generally
become boring and
routine after a short
while.
Uma and Roy did not
throw a party for the
twins birthday, but
Goopy happened to be
on hand after coming
home from work with
one of them.
43. The twins grew into
adorable toddlers.
Obsidian wisely grew up
into clothing
appropriate to his
generational color.
Ebony needed a quick
change to be a little
more reflective of it.
44. Obsidian is a 2/9/2/6/7
Libra. His only other
known stat is that his
OTH is Arts & Crafts.
45. Ebony is also a Libra
with a personality
spread similar to her
brother - 2/8/2/6/7. Her
OTH is also Arts &
Crafts.
I’ll admit I probably
could find a better
toddler outfit that is
black, but I’m not really
that worried about it
since she is an
unauthorized spare.
46. A new bedroom was
added to the house and
toddler training
commenced.
48. Nor are they playing
with the toys in the
living room.
Where are they?
49. Well, Obsidian, the
nasty little bugger, has
discovered the joy of the
toilet and the multitude
of puddles it will create
if you are messy enough.
Which he is.
50. Ebony is practicing her
stalker skills for when
she gets older and is
summarily ignored by
the entire family and
neighborhood.
51. Our lovely couple, upon
waking, do not rush to
attend to their children’s
needs but instead are
lip-locked together until
brutally forced apart by
directives from above.
52. Eventually it was time
for the twins birthday.
Obsidian was rolling the
fear of a party so we
didn’t have one.
Everyone else wanted
one, but well, our little
heir is spoiled.
I’m not sure they would
have paid any closer
attention had there been
guests. They’re both
Pop sims.
53. Ebony fared no better.
She grew up by herself
in the nursery. Even
Obsidian didn’t run in to
watch.
54. *hate shudder* What
the heck are you
wearing? That is
definitely NOT going to
cut it mister.
55. Someone or something
knocked over the trash
can in the middle of the
night while everyone was
sleeping. I had Roy pick
up everything first thing
in the morning, but they
still got roaches. You
can see a small one on
the stone. The rest
turned into that turd
looking thing on the
sidewalk. Roy called the
exterminator who ably
took care of the
problem.
56. They hadn’t called a
Nanny because Uma’s
work schedule was 9:00
to 3:00. I was a little
worried about overlap,
but Uma took things
into her own hands and
got herself demoted and
sent home early so we
didn’t have to worry at
all.
57. Roy, on the other hand,
got a promotion even
though I missed the
doo-hickey.
58. Obsidian did get a better
outfit more
representative of his
generational color. He
looks a lot like his
Daddy.
60. Ebony got a new outfit as
well. She’s one of the
prettiest sims I’ve ever
had born in game and
I’m starting to regret the
rule about one child. I’m
not changing it in the
second generation
though. I’ll have to
figure out something to
do with her eventually.
61. Roy continues to work
on his LTW. Uma helps
by greeting the walk-bys
while he is at work and
feeding them.
63. Goopy, Goopy, Goopy.
He initiated the
conversation with Ebony
and then stood there
bored out of his mind.
He’s BFF’s with Roy, so
he’ll likely be a fixture
for this generation at
least.
64. Obsidian and Ebony get
along okay. He refused
her hug attempts for a
short time, but there
were never any fights.
Of course, they weren’t
inseparable either like
other sets of twins.
65. Obsidian brings home
friends almost every day,
like Meredith Chan here.
Ebony is forced to do
chores while the spoilt
heir has his needs and
aspiration points seen
to.
Yeah, I’m evil like that.
66. Actually, the kids both
have time for play with
their new found friends.
And their parent’s new
found friends.
67. Oh, and Uma got
demoted AGAIN. I don’t
think she really wants to
work. She’d rather be
her own boss.
I’ve never run a
successful business in
any of the
neighborhoods I’ve
played. Maybe it’s time
for another attempt. I
will have to contemplate
it.
68. Both kids are very active
and playful, so the
headmaster was invited
over. They need that
boost to their fun
meters, so fingers
crossed, he took a tour,
ate some burgers and
schmoozed a bit with
Roy who has very high
charisma.
69. Both kids were admitted.
o/
The final score was
actually 120 due to the
final schmooze points
from this conversation,
but my picture did not
come out as well as I had
hoped, so you get this
one instead.
70. First day of Private
School was no big deal.
Obsidian still brought
home a friend almost
every day.
71. Time marched on and
days were filled with
school and play. Both
kids are very playful so
they’re not forced to
skill. If they roll a want,
it gets filled. Fall is nice
because they’ll pick up a
few. Kids need time to
be kids.
76. Roy spends a lot of time
writing in his diary.
Hopefully good
memories. He’ll
probably publish as an
elder.
77. He also tried to increase
his skills as easily as
possible. Townies don’t
have a lot of skill points
though. It’s okay. The
animation just cracks
me up.
78. The time came for the
twins teen birthday and
a lot of people were
invited. Roy and both
twins were rolling wants
for a party and no one
was rolling the fear, so a
party it was.
Note who is missing
though. Pray tell, where
are Roy and Uma for
their offspring’s party?
80. Sandy, I’m sure that one
day he will truly be
impressed and amazed
by your bounteous
assets, but right now he’s
got a date with some
sparkles. Please step
away from the heir.
81. Now, a lot of people are
pleased with their heirs
as they transition to
teen. They talk about
how gorgeous they are
and how their outfits are
not bad but will likely
need to be changed to
suit them better.
We have a different
reaction. Similar to a
shudder and the
realization that there’s a
face only a mother could
love.
82. Ebony fared much
better, again making me
slightly regret Rule #5.
You know, I thought
they both had their
mother’s eyes, but now
I’m not so sure. Both
look rather grey, like
their dad’s, now that
they’re teens.
83. Their friends aged up
with them as well.
Ironically enough, both
who were at the party
chose poodle skirts.
Meredith Chan is in the
red. Demi Howe is in
the blue.
Tessa is a playable and
needs to be played to age
up. She’s really good
friends with Obsidian
though, so she probably
will. At least to teen.
Then we’ll see what their
chemistry is like.
84. Obsidian got a
makeover. He needed to
for several reasons. The
main one though is that
he needs to reflect his
generational color and
the blonde hair just
wasn’t cutting it. He
looks better with black
hair.
It also increased his
bolts with Demi to two,
which is the strongest he
has with anyone so far.
85. No matter how much I
try to cut the guy a
break, Checo Ramirez is
creepy. He took a bath,
hogging the entire
bathroom, then went to
sleep in Obsidian’s bed.
I think Tessa is
embarrassed.
86. The party was a hit. Not
sure how much Roy
really enjoyed it.
87. Obsidian was not
pleased. He was happy
about the party though.
He is a child filled with
contradiction.
You can see Demi
thought it was a great
time too.
88. So did Ebony. She got to
keep the blonde hair .
As the unauthorized
spare, it really didn’t
matter much.
89. The twins took the
customary trip to a
community lot the next
day after school.
They were able to
purchase the electronics
they wanted and also
met even more people
their own age.
90. Proof that Ebony was
there too. They get
along better now and
share a lot of friends.
Both were even able to
make friends with
Melody Tinker, which
never happens.
91. They gypsy brought a
little gift by. I was
relieved because I really
wasn’t going to let Uma
have five top level
businesses.
92. But, Roy is the founder
and man of the house
(and I suck a the
numbered LTW’s) so he
got to rub the lamp first.
93. I had him wish for
lifetime happiness or
whatever it is that gets
him perma-plat. I love
how he’s really thinking
about how to word it so
it won’t back-fire on
him.
94. Uma did eventually get
her wish as well.
This means there is one
left and the lamp has
been placed in
Obsidian’s inventory for
him to choose to use it
or not.
95. Roy is getting closer to
the top of his career. He
got to go to work in the
limo.
Uma was able to get two
promotions, which got
her back to where she
was when she first
moved in.
96. I did go play Bluewater
Village long enough to
give Checo and Lisa
makeovers and let Tessa
age up.
97. Obsidian invited her
over and the first thing
they did was argue.
Their chemistry is non-
existent too, so they will
remain friends and I
don’t have to worry
about him falling for a
playable.
Tessa might go to
college. I’m not sure
though. I kind of have a
soft spot for her since
she married a Doran in
another ‘verse.
98. Recipe for disaster:
1. Family is starving
2. Direct someone to
serve a meal
3. Low cooking points
start a fire
4. Wonder why fire
truck is not showing
up as family
members fire-dance
5. Belatedly note
rookie mistake of
forgetting to put in
smoke detector/fire
alarm
6. Panic!
7. Thank goodness the
heir is not in the
room
99. 8. Direct founder, heir
and spouse to call
emergency in the
hope that someone
will stop fire-dance
long enough to do so
9. Direct unauthorized
spare to try to
extinguish the blaze
since she is
technically
expendable
10. Notice spouse is now
doing the fire-dance
as well though she is
hidden in the
bathroom
100. With the trusty fireman
there, the entire family
can fire-dance together.
The family that fire-
dances together, survives
together?
Disaster is averted and
the fire is put out with
no loss of life nor
kitchen equipment.
102. Uma offers a double tip.
You can’t be too careful,
and he did respond
quickly and well. Roy
didn’t quite agree with
her as evidenced by his
WTF face.
103. While this picture may
seem very dull and
bland, it contains one
very important addition.
104. Disaster averted,
Obsidian invited Demi
over. He had high
relationship scores with
her so it was a matter of
one flirt and hearts were
flying in front of the
shack.
105. Love shack, baby love
shack…
They’re cute together,
and the recessive hair
will stick around a little
while at least. Well, if
they last through
college.
106. They shared their first
kiss and, since he rolled
the want, are now
officially going steady.
107. Ebony is not without a
love interest either.
Though hers is just a
midnight booty call.
108. She gets a good greeting
out of him and a
pleasant thought bubble
from him before he
complains about how
late it is and turns back
the way he came.
109. The twins are getting
along better and better.
Obsidian sort of ignored
Ebony when they were
children and while they
weren’t enemies, their
relationship scores were
rather low. It’s nice to
see that they are besties
now.
110. The time soon
approached for Roy’s
elder transition. A party
was held and all his
closest friends were
there.
111. Roy blew out his candles
without making a
pudding like mess of the
cake and prepared for
the sparkles.
112. I’m not sure if his guests
are clapping or
guffawing. I was leaning
toward the guffaw. I’m
pretty sure Checo was
guffawing too now that
he has hair and Roy
doesn’t.
113. A quick trip to the
mirror and wardrobe
and Roy was very
pleased to be back to his
old self, if a little grayer
with bones a little more
tired.
115. Goopy is still stalking
Ebony. It’s a little
creepy. If they have
bolts as adults it’s going
to be more than a little
creepy. If this was an
apocalypse, it wouldn’t
be quite so creepy
because he would be
eligible as the next
spouse and she would be
made heir.
116. What is it with the
townie friends and the
bathtub?! First Checo
and now Jan Tellerman
is monopolizing the
bathroom.
117. Recipe for disaster #2:
1. Perform another
rookie mistake and
don’t install a
burglar alarm.
2. Notice in the pop-up
camera that you
have enabled
precisely for
notification of
rookie mistakes that
there is a burglar
sneaking toward
your legacy house.
118. 3. While said burglar
chooses to kype the
cheap sofa instead of
the more expensive
stuff you have, wake
as many household
members as possible
so someone can call
emergency services.
119. 4. Moan when police
arrive and burglar
runs away and is
NOT CAUGHT by
said police.
120. 5. Laugh at said police
officer as he does the
WTF look as the
burglar disappears.
6. Sit back in semi-
amazement with the
thought that the
Geebiv family has
met all the
emergency service
personnel and it’s
only the first
generation.
122. That same night, Ebony
made the acquaintance
of Boots the wolf.
She hasn’t seen him
since, but their
relationship is started,
and it’s positive, and she
has knowledge as a
secondary, so hopefully
she’ll see him again.
123. Is…is that a helicopter I
hear?!
Someone topped their
career!
124. It was Roy! He is now
Mayor of Spectrum. Did
I mention that the name
of their little town is
Spectrum? Well, that’s
where they live and Roy
is now the Mayor.
125. Goopy of course, has
attached himself to
Roy’s coat-tail and is
now the Deputy Mayor.
It looks like he is the
Mayor too, but in a town
as small as Spectrum, we
do not need two mayors,
so he is Deputy Mayor.
126. Of course, age and
wisdom have not
seemed to prevent Roy
from making
questionable food
choices. I shouldn’t
really blame him, as it
was never necessary for
him to gain any cooking
skill.
127. Of course, even bad food
puts on some pounds so
Roy dug out the old
jump rope for a little old
fashioned exercise.
He exercises like I do.
Five minutes and we’re
done. Unfortunately,
that program doesn’t
work all that well at
maintaining fitness.
128. The twins have been
working on skills so they
can get a few
scholarships for college.
Ebony skills really fast.
Obsidian has a harder
time of it.
129. His hard work is part of
the reason that Roy
okayed his request to go
out.
Obsidian put together a
small group of friends
and headed to the gamer
hobby lot. While there,
he lost a competition,
played Don’t Wake the
Llama, and was able to
see his girlfriend.
134. Much better. A little
bling around the waist
too. Not a bad touch.
135. Obsidian FINALLY got
his aspiration into the
gold by becoming
friends with one of the
party guets. Now he can
use the energizer. He
has a few more skills to
build before leaving for
college.
136. He moved to the putter
for some more charisma
skill. I’d like him to have
high charisma so he
makes more friends
more easily at college.
137. What is it with Townies
using our bathtub and
beds?! Christy Toyonaga
was a walk-by that Roy
greeted. She stayed for
the party and ended up
in Obsidians bed.
138. Wait! What’s that?! BJ
the Headmaster has
slapped Sandy?
I haven’t a clue as to why.
Maybe she was a
provocative student in
school?
And where are our lovely
hosts while this mayhem
ensues?
139. Well, Uma decided that
her birthday party would
be an excellent time to
blog about games.
And Roy?
140. Roy has once again left
the party for the comfort
of his bed.
He always rolls the wants
for the parties, but he
just doesn’t have the
stamina I guess.
141. Of course, Sandy doesn’t
take a slap sitting down,
but delivers her own
offensive blows.
That grabbed Goopy’s
interest.
Meh, there’s only 30
seconds or so left to the
party. What could go
wrong?
143. I think Goopy said it
best when he told
Gilbert that he didn’t
think that Sandy and BJ
were going to be best
friends.
On that note, the party
finished up in “Not Bad”
status and Roy and Uma
got their little party doo-
hickeys.
144. Although Christy didn’t
even bother to get
dressed again as she
traipsed through the
living room toward the
door.
145. Sunday morning
contained a few early
hours of hard-core
skilling for Obsidian,
which paid off in $4,000
worth of scholarships.
146. Ebony had finished hers
up days ago and also had
$4,000 in scholarships.
147. The taxi was called and
they made their way on
to the next part of their
lives.
148. You two crazy kids hold
the fort while they’re
gone. Obsidian will be
back before you know it.
149. A few closing stats:
I never listed Obsidian
and Ebony’s LTW or
TO/O:
Obsidian’s is to become
Education Minister and
his TO/O are Jewelry
and Creativity/Strength.
Ebony’s is to become a
Rock God and her TO/O
are Glasses and
Mechanical/Red Hair.
Obsidian’s secondary is
Popularity. I choose
secondary's based on
game observations and
what I feel the character
shows me they want.
