The Zadu-English dictionary

This is a collection of every Zadu word that has been created as of now, as well as a list of all the
inflections, and various phrases. There is also a list of the planets in the Padran system, several species
names, and proper nouns. Like many Earth languages, Zadu has genders to nouns. Bold indicates the
Zadu word, italic is the English equivalent. The Small plain text shows the classification of the word, as
well as extra notes. The Bold, italic text indicates the gender for nouns. For convenience, these have
been stated, as well as the verbal conjugation. Please note that there is a difference between the
ejective marker [k'] and the stress marker `. Syllables in Zadu are irregular, and are noted with a period.

         Pronunciation notes:
If you are not able to type ä or ü, they can be replaced with ei and yu.
When U [u:] is paired with an H, it makes an [ʊ] sound rather than both sounds being pronounced.
Letters with an h (other than kh) are aspirated; exhaled more when said.

                                             Numbers
There is no specific base set in Zadu because of the variety of species that speak it.
When forming numbers over a set, the numbers will stack up. For example, with Schizoids, ten would
be Na'mür. With Hazi, that would be Ze'na' (eight and one). In any script, the numbers are represented
with lines and dots.

                                                   8

                                                     Planets
The inhabitants name the planets according to their position compared to Padoro. Both names are
given.

    ● Viscera [visɛra] Ze’kkour
    ● Levidus [lɛ.vid.u:s] Drr’kkour

                                            Phrase/idea words
Not every Zadu word has an exact English equivalent, or come even close. Most of these are more of
abstract ideas than solid things.

The zadu dicionary

  • 1. The Zadu-English dictionary This is a collection of every Zadu word that has been created as of now, as well as a list of all the inflections, and various phrases. There is also a list of the planets in the Padran system, several species names, and proper nouns. Like many Earth languages, Zadu has genders to nouns. Bold indicates the Zadu word, italic is the English equivalent. The Small plain text shows the classification of the word, as well as extra notes. The Bold, italic text indicates the gender for nouns. For convenience, these have been stated, as well as the verbal conjugation. Please note that there is a difference between the ejective marker [k'] and the stress marker `. Syllables in Zadu are irregular, and are noted with a period. Pronunciation notes: If you are not able to type ä or ü, they can be replaced with ei and yu. When U [u:] is paired with an H, it makes an [ʊ] sound rather than both sounds being pronounced. Letters with an h (other than kh) are aspirated; exhaled more when said. Abbreviations: n. Noun adj. Adjective adp. Adposition v. Verb vin. Intransitive verb vtr. Transitive verb f feminine m masculine n neuter intj. Interjection part. Particle conj. conjunction Phonemes: Zadu has a different alphabetical order than Earth languages. This dictionary is simply put into the typical alphabetical order for convenience. For example, with Schizoids, ten would be Na'mür. With Hazi, that would be Ze'na' (eight and one). In any script, the numbers are represented with lines and dots. 8
