2. The influent collecting tank containing the mixture of feed material
and water. The fermentation slurry moves through the inlet into
the digester. The microorganisms from the fermentation slurry are
expected to produce biogas in the digester. The digester must be
designed in a manner that just completely digested slurry can
leave it.
3. Influent Collecting Tank
Fresh substrate is normally gathered in an influent collecting tank before
being fed into the digester. The fibrous material is raked off the surface, if
important, and any stones or sand settling at the bottom are cleaned out
after the slurry is admitted to the digester. The desired level of
homogenization and solids substance could be achieved with the help of
an agitator, pump or chopper. A rock or wooden plug can be utilized to
close off the inlet pipe during the mixing process.
4. Digester
In general terms, digesters consist of the digestion tank as such, which is
thermally protected, in addition to a heating system, mixer systems and
release systems for sediments and the spent substrate.
5. Biogas Piping
The requirements for biogas piping, valves and accessories are basically the
same with respect to different gas installations. However, biogas is 100%
saturated with water vapor and contains hydrogen-sulfide. Thus, no piping,
valves or extras that hold any amounts of ferrous metals may be used for
biogas piping, because they would be destroyed by corrosion inside a short
time.
6. Pumps
Pumps get to be essential parts of a biogas plant, when the measures of
substrate require quick development and when gravity can't be used for
reasons of topography or substrate aspects. Pumps transport the substrate
from the point of delivery through all the stages of fermentation.
