2. What is a Wiki?
A collaborative website where users are
allowed to create and edit content of a web
page.
It includes the work of many users, rather than
just one.
Coordinates correspondence among a group
more easily than email.
Two sites used to create wikis: wikispaces and
PBWorks

Allows news that is shared to be both
professional, as well as personal
Allows the writer to build relationships with

Various Blog Platforms: Blogger, WordPress,
and KidBlog

4. RSS Readers
“Really Simple Syndication”
A “home” for reading new
posts for your favorite
websites
A fast way to keep up with
everything on the web
Blogs and news updates
come directly to your
“feeder” website
Connect by subscribing to
updates and favorite sites
Some Reader Options:
Netvibes, Pulse Reader,
NewsBlur, Feedly, The Old
Reader
5. Ways to Become Web
Publisher
These are just a few of
the top resources to
publish on the web:
Glogster, Animoto,
Edmodo, Wix,
VoiceThread,
XtraNormal, JogTheWeb
I found JogTheWeb to be
the most useful in my
field of work, and very
simple to use

6. Most Useful Tools
JogTheWeb- Our team of
teachers has so many
resources and links that if
we could compile them
into various JogTheWeb
sites, it will be easier to
navigate within lessons
Wikis-since my
colleagues are spread
among 15 schools, this is
a great collaboration site
where we can all
contribute, yet still have
all resources on one
website and access it
from home.
7. Successes and Challenges
Successes:
My colleagues were
very excited about the
various resources I
created and shared
with them, particularly
JogTheWeb
Students loved the
idea of starting a class
blog and are looking
forward to using it
I can see wikis being
used often among my
colleagues, and are
simple to create and
manage
Challenges:
RSS Reader- I don’t
follow many blogs or
many sites for news,
so this was new
territory for me
Blogging- continuous
monitoring needed
since I need to
approve students’
comments before they
are posted, which can
be time consuming
8. Moodle and Online Learning
Feedback
Moodle was very easy to navigate
Everything was clearly explained and
laid out on Moodle
Online learning makes it more flexible to
complete assignments when time
permits since many adults have busy
schedules
Would highly recommend this course to
others
