First things first
• The submission for this to-do target will be a video
with voiceover
• The best speaker among the founders should make
the pitch and should make it in full. Multiple founders
cannot be involved.
• The duration of the pitch should not be more than 3
mins.
Every pitch is contextual.
Here, you are gonna pitch to me as
a practice session for alpha launch
day pitch at Freshdesk, Chennai
The goal is to pitch in as many scenarios as possible until
you arrive at sound contextual judgement

Nobody Wants a Drill Bit
Every year, 6 million quarter-inch drill bits are sold, yet
nobody wants a quarter-inch drill bit; they want a quarter-
inch hole.
Ask yourself: What are you really pitching? You will find that
you are not selling a SaaS product; instead, you are selling
a better life for your customer thanks to the experience your
product provides.
What can you really pitch right
now?
• The problem you are solving and how it’ll make your customer’s life
better
• Your Team
• Promise of an alpha launch within a month
Powerfully lay down your consumer
insight
This will generate a lot of interest
and a keen listener will come back
for more
Pace your slides into seconds, you have 180
secs in all.
Have a sense of which slides require more
time
Don't sweat on following it to the dot.
Focus will come in automatically
It helps if you once write
down all that you want to
say
if you’ve written in all down, try and
stitch them together into one nice
story
People remember stories, not facts
and figures
Pitch once and record
Watch it, go through these

yourself and pitch again

Some more tips
• Narrow coherent sentence is better than a broad
vague one
• Talk slowly and clearly with a crisp voice
• Talk about what’s on the slide, use the same
sentence when you begin, but don’t read it all out.
Nobody write a cheque after a
180 sec pitch
• The goal here is to generate sufficient interest in the
listener’s mind to secure a follow up meeting
