My Favorite Quote Analysis
My favorite quote will always be by Sappho in which she says, "Someone, I tell you, in another
time will remember us." She was right. She's remembered for being a gay poet and is
immortalized despite a lot of her works not being found completely. It's one of my favorite quotes
because identifying as a nonbinary queer person who also likes girls, I can relate to Sappho a lot
when she writes about her desire for love and personal heartbreaks. This quote also brings me ease
as even in "another time" someone will still remember me. I think we all want to leave a legacy of
some sort, and for me I want my legacy to be centered around my experience and accomplishments
as an American born Punjabi artist and social activist, who was also highly active in the LGBTQ+
community. I want someone to remember me because it is a vicious cycle that people of color and
members of the color in the LGBTQ+ community get forgotten in history. History is white– washed.
But the idea that I will do enough in my life to be remembered in some shape or form, reminds me

Quotes inspire us by giving us hope and increases our confidence. It allows us to see the light at
the end of the tunnel despite everything we may be going through. Life is based on quotes and
we have the choice to change our lives for the better. One specific quote I find really inspiring is
"Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events and small minds discuss people".

Mrs. V. Daan: (pleading) Do you want to be dragged off to a concentration camp? Are you going to
stand there and wait for them to come up and get you? (She sinks to her knees in front of her
husband as her hysteria mounts.) Do something, I tell you.
Mr. V. Daan: Will you keep still! (He shoves her aside and crosses quietly and quickly to the
stair–well and listens. MRS VAN DAAN falls sobbing against the couch.)
(Peter hurries to her and helps her to sit on the couch. There is a second of silence, then ANNE can
stand it no longer.)
Anne: Someone go after father. Make father come back.
Peter: (hurrying to the stairwell) I'll go.
Mr. V. Daan: (pushing peter roughly) Haven't you done enough?
(peter grabs a chair as if to to hit MR VAN DAAN with it, then puts it down and buries his face in
