Military Customs and Courtesy Essay
Today's Army in an extremely nostalgic organization with a copious amount traditions and has
about a million different methods of conducting its business. Some are old and some are new, but
possibly the oldest one that has been around since before the Army was officially established and
still lives today is the Army's rules, regulations and policies on customs and courtesies. In this form
of a remedial block of instruction given to me, due to what I believe to be false targeting, I am to
explain the Army's customs and courtesies and their importance. Customs and Courtesies are among
the main fundamentals of military life, the other being the Seven Army Values, upon which Soldiers
are expected to live and rely upon both on and off duty....show more content...
A leader unwilling to sacrifice individual goals for the good of the unit cannot convince other unit
members to do so. The mission suffers with potentially devastating effects. While personal goals
often coincide with Army goals, there is no room for personal agendas at the expense of the
institution or the American people. It is a standard in the hierarchy of military customs and
courtesies that the leader must display to his subordinates that he is willing to put in extra effort,
sacrifice personal time, and show initiative and motivation in order to achieve the same from his
Soldiers. Tardiness is not tolerated in the military. It reflects inattention to duty. In addition to being
extremely impolite, on active duty, it is punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Never keep a senior officer waiting because of your forgetfulness or lack of planning. If an
unexpected event delays you, call ahead and give an explanation. The same rule applies to
appointments and meetings you have arranged with subordinates. Don't keep them waiting. If your
subordinates think of you as a "latecomer," you have not set a good example for them. In today's
society, some people resign themselves to just getting by. Because we've been entrusted with our
nation's security and a good portion of the national treasury –– because our mission often involves
the risk of human life and sometimes national survival

Country Better Than City
Country Life is better than City Life
City life and country life are very different to each other. The bustling city is alive with people and
activities, whereas the country is relaxed and quiet; but which is better? I strongly think that life in
the country beats the city by far because of the better environment and friendlier community. The
tranquil setting of the country is definitely superior compared to urban life, and is really appealing
to everyone.
Firstly, the environment in the countryside is much more relaxed and peaceful compared to the city.
The UK newspaper, The Cornish Guardian, quotes: "It's official: country living beats the hustle and
bustle of city life. People living in the South West countryside are...show more content...
Scientists have researched that parts of the brain that deal with stress and emotion don't handle
crowds well. A quote from Natural News says "A sound diet, exercise, plenty of sleep– and
escaping the concrete jungle of city life. All of these things contribute to a longer, healthier and less
stressful life, according to new research." The answer is simple – if you don't want to be so stressed
all the time, move to the country where there are no crowds. This also explains why people who
are born and raised in the city have much more anxiety and stress in their lives. In comparison,
being exposed to nature and away from hectic life in the city really helps. Country life is like a
community. Because there are fewer people in country towns, everyone cares and watches out
for each other, which helps reduce stress. Furthermore, country folk are generally not as busy, and
seem to be much more relaxed. They don't need to buy much, live simply and houses are much
cheaper, so they will have less to worry about. In the city, however, houses are expensive so
everyone works harder to pay off their loans. As a result, if you want to cut down on your anxiety,
pressure and stress, you will have a much better life if you leave the city and stay in the country.
In conclusion, I am undoubtedly convinced that country life is much better than city life. This is
simply because the country has a better environment, you can save money by

Customs and Courtesies Essays
Marine Corps customs and courtesies are very important to the way the Marine Corps works. They
are intended to reinforce discipline and the chain of command, showing how Marines will treat their
superiors. They also enhance esprit de corps and unity. This is what makes the Marine Corps the
brotherhood that it has become. Military courtesies include correct forms of address like; Sir, and
Ma'am, and when each should be used; the salute, and standing at attention, proper wear of military
covers, and the rules for behavior in different ceremonies. Specifics can change depending on an
individual's rank, location, and conditions. A military funeral, for example, requires stricter etiquette
than a normal day. Courtesies are sometimes relaxed...show more content...
But one thing they all have in common is they show the respect and honor the soldiers and
superiors have for one another. Military courtesies are often very similar to the civilities found in
the civilian world as well as daily life. The only difference is that it is mandatory for the courtesies
seen in the military to be adhered to and followed by its soldiers. If these courtesies are not
followed, the offending soldier can, and almost always will, be punished. This punishment can
come in the form of corrective training, known commonly as essays, extra duty and can go as far
as court martial, jail time and/or being discharged from the military. In the military, manners and
levels of respect help to identify the difference between junior to senior ranking members.
Courtesies and customs of the Army have been practiced for hundreds of years. They involve a
code of conduct that is mandatory for every member of the army to follow. Some are obviously
against the rules of professionalism such as public display of affection in uniform, as is being
intoxicated in uniform and exhibiting violent behavior are conducts that are punishable in the
military code of conduct. Others are unique codes of behavior that must to be followed in order to
present a one of a kind organizational structure to the military as these customs and practices instill
and show discipline and

The Pros And Cons Of Customs Union
The reason I chose Customs Union as my topic is to learn more about how members or potential
members of a union establish an agreement that benefit all parties. I find it interesting that
members of a union are able to influence one another's economic growth, competition and how
they can complement one another as well. Having a common trade policy among a group of
members and removing all barriers of trade can play a significant role in the success of a
business. It saves a lot money, and could be a competitive advantage over competitors. Countries
of a union joining can also impact its position in a global market, as well as help the country
economically. The ability for a group of countries to come together and help each other is
fascinating, and is why I chose to explore this topic more.
EXPLANATION OF KEY TERM
The third stage of Economic Integration is Customs Union. According to the Encyclopaedia of
Britannica, Customs Union is a "trade agreement by which a group of countries charges a common
set of tariffs to the rest of the world while granting free trade among themselves" (Encyclopedia
Britannica, 2010). Customs Union is free–trade zone with common external tariffs; which helps
increase economic efficiency and allows for signatories to establish political and cultural ties. Tariff
barriers make it difficult for some countries to sell products in a foreign country because of the
additional taxes on imported goods, which is a price advantage to members of a

Fashion, Clothing, and Society Essay
There is much scholarly debate over fashion and clothing and their importance within present day
society. Fashion and clothing can be defined as many things that hold our society together. Fashion
can be defined as a prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette and socialising, or the conventional
usage in dress and manners, whereas clothing is defined as garments collectively or something that
covers. If fashion and clothing were abolished there would be no room for individuality, the world's
population would be uniform. There also would be a loss of the distinctions between social classes,
which was most predominant in the 18th century but is still present today. However fashion being
abolished would have little impact on tribal and...show more content...
Clothing can be a way for different gender's to relate to one another, through a common item of
clothing such as jeans. In his article 'Wearing Ideology: how uniforms discipline minds and
bodies in Japan', McVeigh (McVeigh1997:205) states that 'Jeans are the most student like piece of
clothing that the students wear, they symbolise casualness, comfort, recreation, sociability and
youth'. This suggests that clothing especially jeans, can be a way to bring people together in the
same class or gender; and also to bring people of different gender's together by being a cross
gender item of clothing, jeans are mostly the same for males and females. Clothing has the
influence on social structure of bringing both genders closer together through items of clothing.
Clothing being abolished would create a social barrier between the two genders, they would not
have a common element or common item of clothing to relate to, and be separated both socially
and physically. Clothing can be a way to break away from uniformity; it can also be used to create
uniformity. For example some school uniforms can be a way to make students appear equal and
others can vary upon the student, each adds their own flair to it making it fashionable.
McVeigh(McVeigh1997:203) also states that ' a large number of students say that they like wearing
uniforms and appreciate their economic sense and the convenience of not having to choose

Customs and courtesies Essay
US Army Customs and Courtesies A custom is a social norm stemming from tradition and enforced
as an unwritten law. A courtesy is a respectful behavior often linked to a custom. A military courtesy
is such behavior extended to a person or thing that honors them in some way. Military customs and
courtesies define the profession of arms. When you display military customs and courtesies in
various situations, you demonstrate to yourself and others your commitment to duty, honor, and
country. And your professionalism and pride. As a new soldier and future Army leader, you must

PARADE REST: Like "Attention", Parade Rest is a form of respect given to NCOs by those
junior in rank. When a Senior NCO enters an area of junior enlisted soldiers or cadets, the room is
called to "at ease". All personnelshould immediately go to the position of "stand at–ease" until told
to "carry–on". Likewise, when speaking to an NCO, soldiers junior in rank or cadets, will maintain
the position of "parade rest" until instructed to "stand at ease", "at ease", or "rest"/relax. Things you
should never do or say: Never criticize the Army or a leader in public. Never go "over the heads" of
superiors–don't jump the chain of command. Never offer excuses. Never "wear" a superior's rank
by saying something like, "the first sergeant wants this done now," when in fact the first sergeant
said no such thing. Speak with your own voice. Never turn and walk away to avoid giving the
hand salute. Never run indoors or pretend you don't hear (while driving, for example) to avoid
standing reveille or retreat. Never appear in uniform while under the influence of alcohol. If you
don't know the answer to a superior's question, you will never go wrong with the response, "I don't

Majority of the Islam followers are from the Cham ethnic minority group. Members of the same

made up of grandparents, father and mother, children, and grandchildren, all living under the same

Essay Human Culture
Culture
Culture is a learned behaviour made up with a shared set of; values, norms and beliefs which are
governed by a sense of tradition and shared history that gives us a common identity. Since human
beings are virtually identical biologically, as individuals our different characteristics can be
explained and expressed through our human behaviour through symbolic representation. Our
perception of the World around us can also influence ourculture. For example; what we perceive or
interpret as good or bad reflects on our morals, values and what we are willing to accept, allow and

religion, regional and class culture (Garson, 2002). This suggests that people from the same or
similar back ground integrate with individuals who share or have the same ethnics, social class,
age and religion. This can be related to typical high schools in the USA , where the upper class or
'rich kids' group themselves into the cheerleading team or the football team whereas those from
middle class back rounds are either the 'nerds' or trying to fit into High school life. In the same way
people consciously join groups with those who share interests as them in order to feel comfortable
with a sense of identity and belonging.

Companies are misguided nowadays by the notion that customers depend on them, when the truth of
the matter is that companies are dependent on those customers. Customer satisfaction and customer
loyalty is now essential for a business or company to survive. So what is the difference between
customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and how to companies and or business achieve this? Also
when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction?
It's essential that companies or businesses today listen to their customers. No company or business
today can afford to disregard the importance of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Aren't they the
same thing? No, they are absolutely not and they are enormously...show more content...
Customer loyalty is much harder to obtain that customer service satisfaction. The most important
first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company
one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well
as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a
business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is
to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to
make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer
service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new
customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's
essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more.
Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs,
Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing. Another
way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you
have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. "The link between satisfaction and
loyalty however is not proportional" (Kotler, Keller, 2009, p71), so businesses must

Why I Want to Study Computer Science
From cartwheel to supercomputer the evolution of machines has always fascinated me like nothing
else. A machine– symbolizes man's rational thinking. On that account a computer is the most
ingenious invention of man. It exemplifies the prowess of human mind to perceive things rationally
and put them to use in performing extremely difficult tasks with effortless ease. With this kind of
attitude towards machines I was introduced to computers about what they can do and how they do
it. This was enough for me to decide that I was going to work with computers all my life.
The boundless possibility of trying out and the instant knowledge of the outcome that stimulates one
for further analysis of a rationale in question is what I find most appealing about Computer Science.
Keeping up an inquisitive and explorative attitude, I believe, leads to a constant learning process.
This approach adds to the already immense potential for innovation that exists in this field.
Exploration and analysis have been the essence of my life, guiding me through the most mystifying
predicaments. In this ever changing world of engineering & technology where each new day sees a
spate of new concepts and applications and each passing day makes them obsolete, I always wanted
to attain the highest level of excellence in education and transcend new horizons in the chosen field.
In my graduate studies, I have benefited from the breadth of JNTU syllabi content that has given me

The Immigration And Customs Enforcement Essay
ICE stands for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, they deal with matters concerning border
control, customs, trade and immigration to insure public safety and homeland security. Their
priorities focus on preventing terrorism and the illegal movement of items, as well as people.
Within ICE, there are three subgroups that fall into specialized tasks for the agency, such as
Homeland security investigations (HSI) and the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).
Although being a fairly new agency there has been more than a few controversies on how ICE
handles the illegal immigrants, however, since 9/11 the U.S has been trying to find the most
effective ways to stop terrorism. So, that also means that not everyone would agree with the tactics
that ICE used to solve the problem for those specific cases.
The U.S has been known as the land of opportunities, so of course people from all over the world
would try to leave their countries that weren't thriving economically after World War I, this lead to
immigration into the US to rise significantly. "Every year, the State Department issued a limited
number of visas; only those immigrants who had obtained them and could present valid visas were
permitted entry." Because of the limited number of visas, the number of illegal attempts into the
country began to occur. The Border Patrol was established when illegal aliens and entries started
becoming more frequent, the strict guidelines also causing deportation to go on as well.

Importance of Customer Service
Introduction
Today's organizations fail to realize the value of their customers when it comes to the success of their
business. Without customer loyalty the success of your business will always be uncertain.
Organizations must sensitively tailor the designs of a successful firm to the particular challenges of
understanding, attracting, and keeping valuable customers. "Having satisfied customers just aren't
good enough". Kenneth Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles, co–authors of Raving Fans, believe this
concept is needed to have a successful business. I agree with this concept of customers being the
focal point of any business. I would want more than just a satisfied customer; I want a "Raving Fan".

Discover What the Customer Wants
After creating your vision, try to discover what the customer wants or what their vision is. The
customer will focus on just one or two things and it will be up to you to fill in the gap with your
vision. You will then pick and choose which ideas you want to use to complete or build up your
vision. Not every idea of the customer will be used or has to be used. Some ideas may not be
feasible or even applicable to what you have envisioned.
Deliver the Vision Plus One Percent
This is where the vision becomes reality; make it happen just as you envisioned it. Work out the
bugs and keep doing what ever it takes to make this vision come alive. Start out with something
small that you know you can maintain and be consistent with it. Once you have mastered that idea,
add to it, make it better by just one percent. Continue to do this with each new idea, always
producing better ideas by one percent. This way the customer is not promised something that you
will not deliver and you're not promising something too big or complex to consistently follow
through with. Consistency is critical; it creates credibility.
Conclusion
I have always believed customers are the focal point of any business. I found that having satisfied
customers does not mean you are doing a good job. It may mean the customers are satisfied
because their expectations are so low and there is no one else doing any better. Having

Customary Law
1. INTRODUCTION Customary law is among other laws the most controversial and as a result

To add salt to injury, the few authorities of customary law that still hold sway customary sources

The Individual or Society Essay
"Society exists only as a mental concept; in the real world there are only individuals." What is the
concept of the individual? The common notation is one who separates from society in the pursuit
of his or her own needs, goals, and desires; to define his or her own self and to gain independence
and self–reliance. However, an individual must enter into society to further his or her own self
interest. Due to that contradiction, individualism is often contrasted with society or
anti–individualism. Does the interest of the individual produce society or does the interest of
society produce the individual? To defend individualism will be Soren Kierkegaard and to defend

This grew into the demand for civil and political freedom. Individualism blossomed forth, an
individualism in which everybody considered himself the center of the universe and his own
existence and prosperity more important than anyone else's. People set themselves up in opposition
to other people and to society as a whole. The bourgeois were fundamentally individualistic and
propelled western society towards the industrial revolution and toward the series of scientific,
technological, economical and social successes. There was no easy path; it took five hundred years,
but in today's society the human being is no more a number, but an individual.
An individual, although they seek separation, must enter society to further his or her own interests
and demands the right to serve his or her own interest, without sacrifice of self interest for any
higher social cause or the general will. Society can only function to the extent that the people have
interests in common; the end goal of any society is the common good. The general will never

individual is the fundamental unit of social, economic, and political concerns. The interest of the
group will without end dominate the interest of the individual. Since interest of the individual will

we shake hands atomically, but the custom started in the middle ages. When two men met, they
extended their right hands and shook hands to show that they did not intend to use their swords. It
was a display of courtesy and friendship.
What is the origin of the word etiquette? It comes from an old French word meaning ticket. Later it
came to mean a prescribed routine. Today, etiquette is defined as "the forms, manner and
ceremonies established by convention as acceptable for required in business and society." It is a
code of behavior based on kindness consideration and unselfishness– something that should never
change. Francis Bacon said, "If a man can be gracious and courteous to strangers, it shows he is a
citizen of the world."...show more content...
As the motto of Winchester College at oxford, says: "Manners make man."
The old; etiquettes books say things like, "do not drink tea from a saucer," and, "wipe your dirty
hands on bread in order not to soil the napkin." History shows that while specific customs may be
abandoned, having good manners will never go out of style.
2.Definitions
i."Using proper etiquettes does not mean that you are blocked up by someone or not modern. To me
having manners means you are a respectful person and considerate of others. Use of etiquettes can
convey respect of other cultures, traditions or religions."
Example:–
Old people used to take handkerchief with them which is a good etiquettes but nowadays generation
of young people don't rely on that and take tissue papers with them which is also a good etiquette.
ii. "Etiquettes are defined as formal manners and rules that are followed in society or professional
settings."

  • 1. Military Customs and Courtesy Essay Today's Army in an extremely nostalgic organization with a copious amount traditions and has about a million different methods of conducting its business. Some are old and some are new, but possibly the oldest one that has been around since before the Army was officially established and still lives today is the Army's rules, regulations and policies on customs and courtesies. In this form of a remedial block of instruction given to me, due to what I believe to be false targeting, I am to explain the Army's customs and courtesies and their importance. Customs and Courtesies are among the main fundamentals of military life, the other being the Seven Army Values, upon which Soldiers are expected to live and rely upon both on and off duty....show more content... A leader unwilling to sacrifice individual goals for the good of the unit cannot convince other unit members to do so. The mission suffers with potentially devastating effects. While personal goals often coincide with Army goals, there is no room for personal agendas at the expense of the institution or the American people. It is a standard in the hierarchy of military customs and courtesies that the leader must display to his subordinates that he is willing to put in extra effort, sacrifice personal time, and show initiative and motivation in order to achieve the same from his Soldiers. Tardiness is not tolerated in the military. It reflects inattention to duty. In addition to being extremely impolite, on active duty, it is punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Never keep a senior officer waiting because of your forgetfulness or lack of planning. If an unexpected event delays you, call ahead and give an explanation. The same rule applies to appointments and meetings you have arranged with subordinates. Don't keep them waiting. If your subordinates think of you as a "latecomer," you have not set a good example for them. In today's society, some people resign themselves to just getting by. Because we've been entrusted with our nation's security and a good portion of the national treasury –– because our mission often involves the risk of human life and sometimes national survival Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Country Better Than City Country Life is better than City Life City life and country life are very different to each other. The bustling city is alive with people and activities, whereas the country is relaxed and quiet; but which is better? I strongly think that life in the country beats the city by far because of the better environment and friendlier community. The tranquil setting of the country is definitely superior compared to urban life, and is really appealing to everyone. Firstly, the environment in the countryside is much more relaxed and peaceful compared to the city. The UK newspaper, The Cornish Guardian, quotes: "It's official: country living beats the hustle and bustle of city life. People living in the South West countryside are...show more content... Scientists have researched that parts of the brain that deal with stress and emotion don't handle crowds well. A quote from Natural News says "A sound diet, exercise, plenty of sleep– and escaping the concrete jungle of city life. All of these things contribute to a longer, healthier and less stressful life, according to new research." The answer is simple – if you don't want to be so stressed all the time, move to the country where there are no crowds. This also explains why people who are born and raised in the city have much more anxiety and stress in their lives. In comparison, being exposed to nature and away from hectic life in the city really helps. Country life is like a community. Because there are fewer people in country towns, everyone cares and watches out for each other, which helps reduce stress. Furthermore, country folk are generally not as busy, and seem to be much more relaxed. They don't need to buy much, live simply and houses are much cheaper, so they will have less to worry about. In the city, however, houses are expensive so everyone works harder to pay off their loans. As a result, if you want to cut down on your anxiety, pressure and stress, you will have a much better life if you leave the city and stay in the country. In conclusion, I am undoubtedly convinced that country life is much better than city life. This is simply because the country has a better environment, you can save money by Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Customs and Courtesies Essays Marine Corps customs and courtesies are very important to the way the Marine Corps works. They are intended to reinforce discipline and the chain of command, showing how Marines will treat their superiors. They also enhance esprit de corps and unity. This is what makes the Marine Corps the brotherhood that it has become. Military courtesies include correct forms of address like; Sir, and Ma'am, and when each should be used; the salute, and standing at attention, proper wear of military covers, and the rules for behavior in different ceremonies. Specifics can change depending on an individual's rank, location, and conditions. A military funeral, for example, requires stricter etiquette than a normal day. Courtesies are sometimes relaxed...show more content... But one thing they all have in common is they show the respect and honor the soldiers and superiors have for one another. Military courtesies are often very similar to the civilities found in the civilian world as well as daily life. The only difference is that it is mandatory for the courtesies seen in the military to be adhered to and followed by its soldiers. If these courtesies are not followed, the offending soldier can, and almost always will, be punished. This punishment can come in the form of corrective training, known commonly as essays, extra duty and can go as far as court martial, jail time and/or being discharged from the military. In the military, manners and levels of respect help to identify the difference between junior to senior ranking members. Courtesies and customs of the Army have been practiced for hundreds of years. They involve a code of conduct that is mandatory for every member of the army to follow. Some are obviously against the rules of professionalism such as public display of affection in uniform, as is being intoxicated in uniform and exhibiting violent behavior are conducts that are punishable in the military code of conduct. Others are unique codes of behavior that must to be followed in order to present a one of a kind organizational structure to the military as these customs and practices instill and show discipline and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Customs Union The reason I chose Customs Union as my topic is to learn more about how members or potential members of a union establish an agreement that benefit all parties. I find it interesting that members of a union are able to influence one another's economic growth, competition and how they can complement one another as well. Having a common trade policy among a group of members and removing all barriers of trade can play a significant role in the success of a business. It saves a lot money, and could be a competitive advantage over competitors. Countries of a union joining can also impact its position in a global market, as well as help the country economically. The ability for a group of countries to come together and help each other is fascinating, and is why I chose to explore this topic more. EXPLANATION OF KEY TERM The third stage of Economic Integration is Customs Union. According to the Encyclopaedia of Britannica, Customs Union is a "trade agreement by which a group of countries charges a common set of tariffs to the rest of the world while granting free trade among themselves" (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2010). Customs Union is free–trade zone with common external tariffs; which helps increase economic efficiency and allows for signatories to establish political and cultural ties. Tariff barriers make it difficult for some countries to sell products in a foreign country because of the additional taxes on imported goods, which is a price advantage to members of a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Fashion, Clothing, and Society Essay There is much scholarly debate over fashion and clothing and their importance within present day society. Fashion and clothing can be defined as many things that hold our society together. Fashion can be defined as a prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette and socialising, or the conventional usage in dress and manners, whereas clothing is defined as garments collectively or something that covers. If fashion and clothing were abolished there would be no room for individuality, the world's population would be uniform. There also would be a loss of the distinctions between social classes, which was most predominant in the 18th century but is still present today. However fashion being abolished would have little impact on tribal and...show more content... Clothing can be a way for different gender's to relate to one another, through a common item of clothing such as jeans. In his article 'Wearing Ideology: how uniforms discipline minds and bodies in Japan', McVeigh (McVeigh1997:205) states that 'Jeans are the most student like piece of clothing that the students wear, they symbolise casualness, comfort, recreation, sociability and youth'. This suggests that clothing especially jeans, can be a way to bring people together in the same class or gender; and also to bring people of different gender's together by being a cross gender item of clothing, jeans are mostly the same for males and females. Clothing has the influence on social structure of bringing both genders closer together through items of clothing. Clothing being abolished would create a social barrier between the two genders, they would not have a common element or common item of clothing to relate to, and be separated both socially and physically. Clothing can be a way to break away from uniformity; it can also be used to create uniformity. For example some school uniforms can be a way to make students appear equal and others can vary upon the student, each adds their own flair to it making it fashionable. McVeigh(McVeigh1997:203) also states that ' a large number of students say that they like wearing uniforms and appreciate their economic sense and the convenience of not having to choose Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 10. Customer Service Essay examples Companies are misguided nowadays by the notion that customers depend on them, when the truth of the matter is that companies are dependent on those customers. Customer satisfaction and customer loyalty is now essential for a business or company to survive. So what is the difference between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and how to companies and or business achieve this? Also when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction? It's essential that companies or businesses today listen to their customers. No company or business today can afford to disregard the importance of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Aren't they the same thing? No, they are absolutely not and they are enormously...show more content... Customer loyalty is much harder to obtain that customer service satisfaction. The most important first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more. Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs, Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing. Another way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. "The link between satisfaction and loyalty however is not proportional" (Kotler, Keller, 2009, p71), so businesses must Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It is a manner of doing things good at first only, as it goes along it is getting worse. this habit is expressed in the phrase "Sa una lang magaling." The belief on "Kapalaran" (fortune) provides self–assurance and audacity to the Filipino. But even if kapalaran is not the way they want it to be, he/she can search for defense or guard and improved fortune by having "anting–anting"(amulet) that keeps him/her from bad luck. The amulet makes the Filipino that's someone who is not a risk taker. Now, here are some common Filipino customs. • 12. Why I Want to Study Computer Science From cartwheel to supercomputer the evolution of machines has always fascinated me like nothing else. A machine– symbolizes man's rational thinking. On that account a computer is the most ingenious invention of man. It exemplifies the prowess of human mind to perceive things rationally and put them to use in performing extremely difficult tasks with effortless ease. With this kind of attitude towards machines I was introduced to computers about what they can do and how they do it. This was enough for me to decide that I was going to work with computers all my life. The boundless possibility of trying out and the instant knowledge of the outcome that stimulates one for further analysis of a rationale in question is what I find most appealing about Computer Science. Keeping up an inquisitive and explorative attitude, I believe, leads to a constant learning process. This approach adds to the already immense potential for innovation that exists in this field. Exploration and analysis have been the essence of my life, guiding me through the most mystifying predicaments. In this ever changing world of engineering & technology where each new day sees a spate of new concepts and applications and each passing day makes them obsolete, I always wanted to attain the highest level of excellence in education and transcend new horizons in the chosen field. In my graduate studies, I have benefited from the breadth of JNTU syllabi content that has given me a comprehensive Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 14. The Immigration And Customs Enforcement Essay ICE stands for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, they deal with matters concerning border control, customs, trade and immigration to insure public safety and homeland security. Their priorities focus on preventing terrorism and the illegal movement of items, as well as people. Within ICE, there are three subgroups that fall into specialized tasks for the agency, such as Homeland security investigations (HSI) and the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). Although being a fairly new agency there has been more than a few controversies on how ICE handles the illegal immigrants, however, since 9/11 the U.S has been trying to find the most effective ways to stop terrorism. So, that also means that not everyone would agree with the tactics that ICE used to solve the problem for those specific cases. The U.S has been known as the land of opportunities, so of course people from all over the world would try to leave their countries that weren't thriving economically after World War I, this lead to immigration into the US to rise significantly. "Every year, the State Department issued a limited number of visas; only those immigrants who had obtained them and could present valid visas were permitted entry." Because of the limited number of visas, the number of illegal attempts into the country began to occur. The Border Patrol was established when illegal aliens and entries started becoming more frequent, the strict guidelines also causing deportation to go on as well. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Importance of Customer Service Essay example Importance of Customer Service Introduction Today's organizations fail to realize the value of their customers when it comes to the success of their business. Without customer loyalty the success of your business will always be uncertain. Organizations must sensitively tailor the designs of a successful firm to the particular challenges of understanding, attracting, and keeping valuable customers. "Having satisfied customers just aren't good enough". Kenneth Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles, co–authors of Raving Fans, believe this concept is needed to have a successful business. I agree with this concept of customers being the focal point of any business. I would want more than just a satisfied customer; I want a "Raving Fan". ...show more content... Discover What the Customer Wants After creating your vision, try to discover what the customer wants or what their vision is. The customer will focus on just one or two things and it will be up to you to fill in the gap with your vision. You will then pick and choose which ideas you want to use to complete or build up your vision. Not every idea of the customer will be used or has to be used. Some ideas may not be feasible or even applicable to what you have envisioned. Deliver the Vision Plus One Percent This is where the vision becomes reality; make it happen just as you envisioned it. Work out the bugs and keep doing what ever it takes to make this vision come alive. Start out with something small that you know you can maintain and be consistent with it. Once you have mastered that idea, add to it, make it better by just one percent. Continue to do this with each new idea, always producing better ideas by one percent. This way the customer is not promised something that you will not deliver and you're not promising something too big or complex to consistently follow through with. Consistency is critical; it creates credibility. Conclusion I have always believed customers are the focal point of any business. I found that having satisfied customers does not mean you are doing a good job. It may mean the customers are satisfied because their expectations are so low and there is no one else doing any better. Having Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The argument is that existing customary laws must not be incompatible with any written law (Obilade 1991). The idea of public policy here implies the principle of judicial legislation or interpretation founded on the current needs of the community. Anything that offends morality is contrary to public policy. That is moral values and ideas which are prevalent in a society as a way of preserving its interest. Where a transaction is contrary to the policy of the laws or public policy, the law refuses to enforce or recognize it on the ground that it has a mischievous tendency so as to be injurious to the interests of the state or the community. • 18. The Individual or Society Essay "Society exists only as a mental concept; in the real world there are only individuals." What is the concept of the individual? The common notation is one who separates from society in the pursuit of his or her own needs, goals, and desires; to define his or her own self and to gain independence and self–reliance. However, an individual must enter into society to further his or her own self interest. Due to that contradiction, individualism is often contrasted with society or anti–individualism. Does the interest of the individual produce society or does the interest of society produce the individual? To defend individualism will be Soren Kierkegaard and to defend society will be Bertolt Brecht. What is the price of individuality and is...show more content... This grew into the demand for civil and political freedom. Individualism blossomed forth, an individualism in which everybody considered himself the center of the universe and his own existence and prosperity more important than anyone else's. People set themselves up in opposition to other people and to society as a whole. The bourgeois were fundamentally individualistic and propelled western society towards the industrial revolution and toward the series of scientific, technological, economical and social successes. There was no easy path; it took five hundred years, but in today's society the human being is no more a number, but an individual. An individual, although they seek separation, must enter society to further his or her own interests and demands the right to serve his or her own interest, without sacrifice of self interest for any higher social cause or the general will. Society can only function to the extent that the people have interests in common; the end goal of any society is the common good. The general will never coincide exactly with any individual will in any class, therefore the interest the group rather the individual is the fundamental unit of social, economic, and political concerns. The interest of the group will without end dominate the interest of the individual. Since interest of the individual will always be submissive to the interest of the group. The question that remains to be asked is for which is the price worth it, to be an Get more content on HelpWriting.net
