Athletic Scholarships Essay
Athletic Scholarships
There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in
college sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young,
Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the
pros. What would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into
professional sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. Collegescholarships not
only give athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for
many players to earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional
athlete. Some people make it a reality, but...show more content...
After it's done baking, the final product is a delicious cake. The cake can't be complete without it
being baked. There can not be a missed step in the process. Could Mark McGwire have made it to
the pros without attending The University of Southern California(USC) on an athletic scholarship or
Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown
University, or Steve Young without attendingBrigham Young University? To earn a spot on a roster,
you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along
with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times
the only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many
times run young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to
$25,000 a year to attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4
year term at USC, the total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living
expenses such as gas, car payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is
that figure contained to USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The
University of North Carolina. That's a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of
spending that much money. Many people would

Scholarship Essay "We've all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part we
choose to act on, that's who we really are."–Sirius Black. This quote is the epitome of the belief that
the choices we make define who we are. I have always been the person who overthinks everything
because I know that every decision can and will affect me and everyone around me. But I know
that the best decision I have ever made is to surround myself with people who help me grow and
find my path but know that my choice is, in the end, my choice. While writing this essay, I was
given much input from my family and friends on how I should undertake writing it. Whether it
would be the way to start the essay or what traits I should include, I collected idea after idea into
the swirling storm of thoughts inside my head. Now I had the tedious job of sorting through that
mess and making it into a beautifully structured essay. However, throughout the entire process of
receiving ideas, brainstorming, and making the outline, I knew that none of those ideas were
genuine to me and did not say anything about who I am so I decided to go a different direction. A
direction that I knew would define me as a person and give an insight into who I actually am....show

Traditionally, in school projects, there would be only one or two people who decide everything.
However, whenever I have a chance, I try to give the opportunity to people who do not usually
have a say in the decisions to have their opinions heard. For example, in my history class, we
occasionally do skits to depict the topic we are learning about. During the preparation time, I make
sure that everyone is included and has a chance to pitch in their

"In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure" (Bill
Cosby). Reflecting back on my life I have dealt with numerous downfalls but I always bounce
back. I was born in India and moved here when I was six years old. As I grew up in California I
was not a bright student at first. I was enrolled in Carmichael Elementary in which I was the only
one with Turban on my head, which caused me to get into a lot of fights with other students who
were making fun of turban. Not knowing how to speak English at the time affected the way
interacted with teachers and students. On the other hand my family always had a tight budget at
home. Both of my parents worked at the store we owned which was the only source money. At
school kids were always talking about their new shoes and the iPod which his or her parents got
them. I didn't get everything I wanted as a kid but as I got older I understand if did I could be a
spoiled brat. When I moved from Carmichael to Sacramento and I was enrolled at Maeola R.
Beitzel elementary. Going to this new school I already learned English so I made marvelous
friends and was surrounded by positive people. Going from a chaos environment to this
harmonious environment in part because I was speaking English, made me have unique
personality .I was playing sports and growing as a student. Those years went by in no time. Now I

I never stop thinking about being a film director. All these elements have given me a very broad
outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of topics. I strongly believe that although
some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence my graduate work.
When the opportunity showed up I took it. I came to New York City to study film. But I have to
start from the beginning. The first year I prepared to get my GED. In October 2001 I took the
examination and I passed it. Now, the second step, how can I do to pay a college or a university?
I started to work and I took editing courses in the School of Visual Art and NYU. I bought a
digital camera and I learned how to used it. I started to work making digital videos for parties and
events. I earned enough money to start my career. The CUNY advisor sent me to HOSTOS
Community College because he told me that it would be easier for me to study there. Even though
the major that I was interested in, wasn't in HOSTOS curriculum, I accepted but with the idea in my
mind to changed to the college where film major was imparted.
After three semesters in HOSTOS I transferred to Brooklyn College and I enrolled in the film

Writing A Biology Scholarship Analysis
One of the cornerstones of modern civilization is the written word. The ability to clearly convey
information through text is essential for people to gain new knowledge and interact with one
another, therefore, being able to write well is an essential skill. Writing an effective essay requires
proper understanding of language basics, and the ability to emphasize information for a target
audience. My goal for this essay is to review these techniques and critique a writing sample of my
own, a biology scholarship application, to demonstrate how these following these techniques
contributes to the quality of a written piece.
To begin with, when writing clearly, one must start with the basics of the language. Proper grammar,
spelling, punctuation,...show more content...
The ability to emphasize a point can be done through following convention, repetition, and
specificity. Writing convention is derived from following the most often used formats both
currently and traditionally in use. Readers can expect to gain useful information based on
introductory paragraphs, the first or last sentences in a paragraph, and through appropriate section
headings. Readers know these are important places to gather main ideas because this pattern in
writing has been established and reinforced time and time again. Keeping this convention in place
will help readers find information in the places they've already been trained to look for it.
Repetition also helps to emphasize certain lessons. This is true in speech, in real–life experiences,
and it holds true for the written word. Points that are repeated are more easily remembered and stay
relevant within the reader's mind. While it can feel tedious to reiterate something over and over
again, it puts one's overarching point at the forefront of the audience's recollection of the piece,
enabling better reading comprehension. In the same way as repetition, emphasis can be enhanced
through specificity. Very vague statements, while sometimes useful for transitioning into
neighboring ideas, ought to be explained in order to leave the reader with a clear point. For
instance, "We ate" is a grammatically correct and complete sentence, but it is easily forgettable and
doesn't leave much excitement for the reader. "For Valentine's Day, my husband and I ate a feast of
lobster and freshly caught salmon at our favorite seaside restaurant" gives the reader much more
information and even induces some imagination on the part of the reader, which makes the point

Why Are You Applying For A Scholarship?
Write an essay (no longer than 200 words) to explain why you are applying for a scholarship.
Because some scholarships require financial need, you may want to include information on your
family's financial situation.
Coming from a single parent household finances are very tight. My father is not fiscally involved
and my mother holds two jobs to support her family. It's clear to me that there will be a heavy
burden of student loans. A scholarship would allow me the opportunity to become a first generation
college graduate. I have a strong desire to become a better person, to better provide for my family by
pursuing higher education. Becoming a business or civil rights lawyer has been my ambition since I
was a little. Discuss your passion

Why I Want To Write A Scholarship Essay
I started out as the odd dandelion in a field of wheat. As I begin to gradually bloom, I felt like I
was expected yet obligated to be like wheat: ordinary, dry, and tasteless. From where I grew up in,
Plainfield, Indiana, a majority of the people are just like wheat: ordinary, dry, and tasteless.
Differentiating myself from these qualities, I felt the need to become who I want to be and
achieve the things I desire. Thus, this made me a minority or a dandelion, and I have no absolute
shame for doing what I want to do. The things I desire include me studying at Columbia University,
and learning the history of art. I've always admired art and its origins, and how it created and
structured the world. To me, I see art having its own culture and...show more content...

Despite the stereotypes of Asians only wanting to become doctors, lawyers, biochemists, and etc.
for the sake of money and honor, I want to fight that, and prove everyone that Asians should not be
entitled to labels like those. Participating in the summer program of Columbia University will
allow me to become more empowered and determined to break the misperception of Asians and
their interests. Surely, Columbia University is an Ivy League school comprised with passionate and
intellectual people, and being around them will cultivate me. Including with that, I will be able to
socialize and connect with students, and explore the diverse city life of New York. Unquestionably,
New York is palette full of unexpired paint that'll never dry and crust unlike Indiana. The repetition
of dreadfulness is common in Indiana, while in New York, there's an ongoing cycle of progression
and delightfulness. Knowing the prestige nature of Columbia University will allow me to take my
education and passion

How Would A Scholarship Impact My Life
A $3,000 scholarship would greatly impact me and make a big difference in my life. Education
has always been extremely important in my family, and a college education is highly valued in my
community. Because of this, my parents have been planning on me going to college since before I
was born. I am so grateful for their endless support. However, moral–support alone will not help me
get into college. Since I was a child, I've always thought of college as a necessity, so I've been saving
up for years. Besides working hard in school and being strongly academic, I've also been working
since I was 12 years old to save money. My first job was babysitting, and I got CPR–certified and
registered by my city. I've been working hard my whole life to

I can remember the stress that had been laid upon my tiny, yet dependable shoulders. I still can
feel the pain of when everyone had abandoned me for Jack, even though they chose me as their
trusted leader. The feeling of losing someone and witnessing their murders right in front of my
innocent soul, had racked my mind at a young age so violently, that to this day I still feel shivers.
The incident of the plane crash had transformed my attitude towards things; it allowed me to depend
on myself in life. It made me realize that my family and friends are the most important pieces of my
life. I learned that hopes and dreams are what keep humans going though hardships; that evil is
within all people, but to resist it from taking over, one needs to be intellect and civilized, otherwise
chaos will completely demolish what the human race today has built for us all to survive.
Even now my blood pulses within me actively, striving to help people survive; to be a leader....show

This stressful career make gives me headaches now and then, but the people of this country's

great things. That name always makes me regret that I hadn't treated him fairly, even though he
stuck with me when I was wanted dead by most people on that treacherous island. On the island,
in order to survive from paranoia and savages, we had to make intellect choices, such as where we

order to escape off this island, we needed to use time diligently.

Dear Scholarship/Bursary/Award Committee,
As a student in my sophomore semester who is financially weak, it is certain that I needed to be
persistent and determined to achieve my career aspirations. However, I would not be at this level in
my education without my family's support. My parents have always thought me to believe in the
slogan "Education is the most powerful weapon which I can use to change the world". I have taken
this to heart while I struggle to push through my financial difficulties in order to achieve my dream
of being a development practitioner (Indigenous focus).
I have learnt how to provide myself with a decent quality of life, with little or no emotional and
financial assistance from my husband. My relocation to study in Canada was overwhelming because

Why I Want To Be A Scholarship Essay
Growing up is a big part in life. It is very scary and hard sometimes, but I want to do it the right
way. In 2019 I am a high school graduate, and Schuylkill Valley Alumi. I want to do big and better
things once I graduate, and go to college. "If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain"
is something I have always lived by, and always will. It is very meaningful because even though
there is hard day's, you have to put up with it to get through it, and you will get through it.
Alvernia University is where I want to end up, to study my major psychology. While majoring in

Being a psychologist, you need to get inside people's brains and get them to talk about what is

someone's life. Knowing I helped someone in a better way and form, will make me feel better &
feel like a better person. I want to know someone is getting the help they need and not go through
things like I do. Minoring in dance is one of my many dreams. I have been dancing for twelve
years! Even though, I keep getting older, I never want to let go of dancing. I hope to teach young
kids, and teenagers how to dance. Also, I want to make them love it as much as I do. Dancing is
definitely a huge impact and part of my life that I never want to let go. Attending Alvernia for
four years is what I plan to happen. I want to make life long best friends here. After those four
years, I want to move to California where I hope to be a psychologist. Other than my career, my
dreams include being settled down in a big house with a husband and two kids. I hope for a girl,
and a boy. Also, I want to own many

Having the sense that I pushed myself the hardest I can and knowing that I won't stop as I further

do more as a student. I wanted to be able to do more like scholarships to benefit myself rather than
having that feeling that I didn't do as much for myself then I should have. Being considered for a
scholarship will give me the feeling that all the dedication that I've put into my work for the past
four years was all worth it. Just the satisfaction of knowing that I put my all into it is just a good
feeling as being awarded a scholarship. Scholarships are meant to push students farther in what
they want so being able to do this has made me think of all the great things that can come out of
things like this. I've never stopped trying at anything I've done and I will continue this as I go
further in my education and career. I would like to advocate for my future students that always
being able to motivate and have faith in yourself will always get you to you truly desire. I've had
faith in myself as a student to try as hard as I possibly can to get these scholarships and to put my

I choose to pursue an agriculture degree because I have always felt drawn to the field. I have
loved animals and felt a strong desire to care for them since I was a little girl. Animals mean the
world to me and when they're doing well, my heart can rest. I absolutely love farm animals and
fully intend to have my own sort of miniature zoo on a hobby farm. During high school I was in FFA
and 4H and thoroughly enjoyed showing chickens and rabbits. I started out as a biology major at
Dixie State but did not find satisfaction because there were no animal science courses available, but
I was unable to leave my family and live elsewhere so I remained unhappy.

The importance of philosophy is undeniable in everyday life, as it builds critical thinking skills
and logical argumentation skills that are utilized in a myriad of professional fields. An example
of a research project or thesis I would propose is a study of Heidegger's impact on the philosophies
of logic and mind, how his works impacted both German and global societies, and how his ideas and
ethics compare to that of Marx's, Nietzsche's, and Engels. This would perhaps encompass a trip to
Germany and an attempt to come into contact with present–day German philosophers and professors
in search of discovering something linking all four philosophers together that has not been
discovered before. After all, while it may be difficult to come up with innovative research topics
that have not been covered before in the world of philosophy, I know that I can come up with a
bunch of original research ideas that will help develop the field of philosophy even further; having
the requirement of applying for scholarships such as DURF grants will only enable me to venture
out as far as I can possibly go within my research

Currently I am an active student at the University of Delaware, yet I do not feel it is the right

Dear donor of the First Generation Scholarship, I would like to share with you how grateful I am to

moments of my life. I simply could not believe what I was reading, especially considering that this

How Do You Write A Scholarship Essay

  • 1. Athletic Scholarships Essay Athletic Scholarships There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in college sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the pros. What would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into professional sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. Collegescholarships not only give athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for many players to earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional athlete. Some people make it a reality, but...show more content... After it's done baking, the final product is a delicious cake. The cake can't be complete without it being baked. There can not be a missed step in the process. Could Mark McGwire have made it to the pros without attending The University of Southern California(USC) on an athletic scholarship or Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown University, or Steve Young without attendingBrigham Young University? To earn a spot on a roster, you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times the only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many times run young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to $25,000 a year to attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4 year term at USC, the total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living expenses such as gas, car payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is that figure contained to USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The University of North Carolina. That's a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of spending that much money. Many people would Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Write A Scholarship Essay Examples Scholarship Essay "We've all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part we choose to act on, that's who we really are."–Sirius Black. This quote is the epitome of the belief that the choices we make define who we are. I have always been the person who overthinks everything because I know that every decision can and will affect me and everyone around me. But I know that the best decision I have ever made is to surround myself with people who help me grow and find my path but know that my choice is, in the end, my choice. While writing this essay, I was given much input from my family and friends on how I should undertake writing it. Whether it would be the way to start the essay or what traits I should include, I collected idea after idea into the swirling storm of thoughts inside my head. Now I had the tedious job of sorting through that mess and making it into a beautifully structured essay. However, throughout the entire process of receiving ideas, brainstorming, and making the outline, I knew that none of those ideas were genuine to me and did not say anything about who I am so I decided to go a different direction. A direction that I knew would define me as a person and give an insight into who I actually am....show more content... Traditionally, in school projects, there would be only one or two people who decide everything. However, whenever I have a chance, I try to give the opportunity to people who do not usually have a say in the decisions to have their opinions heard. For example, in my history class, we occasionally do skits to depict the topic we are learning about. During the preparation time, I make sure that everyone is included and has a chance to pitch in their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. "In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure" (Bill Cosby). Reflecting back on my life I have dealt with numerous downfalls but I always bounce back. I was born in India and moved here when I was six years old. As I grew up in California I was not a bright student at first. I was enrolled in Carmichael Elementary in which I was the only one with Turban on my head, which caused me to get into a lot of fights with other students who were making fun of turban. Not knowing how to speak English at the time affected the way interacted with teachers and students. On the other hand my family always had a tight budget at home. Both of my parents worked at the store we owned which was the only source money. At school kids were always talking about their new shoes and the iPod which his or her parents got them. I didn't get everything I wanted as a kid but as I got older I understand if did I could be a spoiled brat. When I moved from Carmichael to Sacramento and I was enrolled at Maeola R. Beitzel elementary. Going to this new school I already learned English so I made marvelous friends and was surrounded by positive people. Going from a chaos environment to this harmonious environment in part because I was speaking English, made me have unique personality .I was playing sports and growing as a student. Those years went by in no time. Now I am in high school and my family's income has been growing. My mom changed her work to now at Jack in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My grandma, who was full of the wise the life experience left, always knew about my interest in movies. She feed my vain for the art. Even though her religion, she professed Adventist of seven–day religion, didn't let her go to the cinema, she always found the way to took me to the cinema. She and I enjoyed watch movies. We used to sit in the darkness room, with our faces illuminated from the reflection of the light which rebooted from the screen, both absorbs in the plot of the movie which made us laughed or cried. I never stop thinking about being a film director. All these elements have given me a very broad outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of topics. I strongly believe that although some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence my graduate work. When the opportunity showed up I took it. I came to New York City to study film. But I have to start from the beginning. The first year I prepared to get my GED. In October 2001 I took the examination and I passed it. Now, the second step, how can I do to pay a college or a university? I started to work and I took editing courses in the School of Visual Art and NYU. I bought a digital camera and I learned how to used it. I started to work making digital videos for parties and events. I earned enough money to start my career. The CUNY advisor sent me to HOSTOS Community College because he told me that it would be easier for me to study there. Even though the major that I was interested in, wasn't in HOSTOS curriculum, I accepted but with the idea in my mind to changed to the college where film major was imparted. After three semesters in HOSTOS I transferred to Brooklyn College and I enrolled in the film program. I will be a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Writing A Biology Scholarship Analysis One of the cornerstones of modern civilization is the written word. The ability to clearly convey information through text is essential for people to gain new knowledge and interact with one another, therefore, being able to write well is an essential skill. Writing an effective essay requires proper understanding of language basics, and the ability to emphasize information for a target audience. My goal for this essay is to review these techniques and critique a writing sample of my own, a biology scholarship application, to demonstrate how these following these techniques contributes to the quality of a written piece. To begin with, when writing clearly, one must start with the basics of the language. Proper grammar, spelling, punctuation,...show more content... The ability to emphasize a point can be done through following convention, repetition, and specificity. Writing convention is derived from following the most often used formats both currently and traditionally in use. Readers can expect to gain useful information based on introductory paragraphs, the first or last sentences in a paragraph, and through appropriate section headings. Readers know these are important places to gather main ideas because this pattern in writing has been established and reinforced time and time again. Keeping this convention in place will help readers find information in the places they've already been trained to look for it. Repetition also helps to emphasize certain lessons. This is true in speech, in real–life experiences, and it holds true for the written word. Points that are repeated are more easily remembered and stay relevant within the reader's mind. While it can feel tedious to reiterate something over and over again, it puts one's overarching point at the forefront of the audience's recollection of the piece, enabling better reading comprehension. In the same way as repetition, emphasis can be enhanced through specificity. Very vague statements, while sometimes useful for transitioning into neighboring ideas, ought to be explained in order to leave the reader with a clear point. For instance, "We ate" is a grammatically correct and complete sentence, but it is easily forgettable and doesn't leave much excitement for the reader. "For Valentine's Day, my husband and I ate a feast of lobster and freshly caught salmon at our favorite seaside restaurant" gives the reader much more information and even induces some imagination on the part of the reader, which makes the point much more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Why Are You Applying For A Scholarship? Write an essay (no longer than 200 words) to explain why you are applying for a scholarship. Because some scholarships require financial need, you may want to include information on your family's financial situation. Coming from a single parent household finances are very tight. My father is not fiscally involved and my mother holds two jobs to support her family. It's clear to me that there will be a heavy burden of student loans. A scholarship would allow me the opportunity to become a first generation college graduate. I have a strong desire to become a better person, to better provide for my family by pursuing higher education. Becoming a business or civil rights lawyer has been my ambition since I was a little. • 7. Why I Want To Write A Scholarship Essay I started out as the odd dandelion in a field of wheat. As I begin to gradually bloom, I felt like I was expected yet obligated to be like wheat: ordinary, dry, and tasteless. From where I grew up in, Plainfield, Indiana, a majority of the people are just like wheat: ordinary, dry, and tasteless. Differentiating myself from these qualities, I felt the need to become who I want to be and achieve the things I desire. Thus, this made me a minority or a dandelion, and I have no absolute shame for doing what I want to do. The things I desire include me studying at Columbia University, and learning the history of art. I've always admired art and its origins, and how it created and structured the world. To me, I see art having its own culture and...show more content... Talking to Mr. Sun was like a breath of fresh air. He made me realize that art is my true passion, and I just never recognized it because I didn't fully acknowledged art as a part of my future. Despite the stereotypes of Asians only wanting to become doctors, lawyers, biochemists, and etc. for the sake of money and honor, I want to fight that, and prove everyone that Asians should not be entitled to labels like those. Participating in the summer program of Columbia University will allow me to become more empowered and determined to break the misperception of Asians and their interests. Surely, Columbia University is an Ivy League school comprised with passionate and intellectual people, and being around them will cultivate me. Including with that, I will be able to socialize and connect with students, and explore the diverse city life of New York. Unquestionably, New York is palette full of unexpired paint that'll never dry and crust unlike Indiana. The repetition of dreadfulness is common in Indiana, while in New York, there's an ongoing cycle of progression and delightfulness. Knowing the prestige nature of Columbia University will allow me to take my education and passion Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Education has always been extremely important in my family, and a college education is highly valued in my community. Because of this, my parents have been planning on me going to college since before I was born. I am so grateful for their endless support. However, moral–support alone will not help me get into college. Since I was a child, I've always thought of college as a necessity, so I've been saving up for years. Besides working hard in school and being strongly academic, I've also been working since I was 12 years old to save money. My first job was babysitting, and I got CPR–certified and registered by my city. I've been working hard my whole life to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I still can feel the pain of when everyone had abandoned me for Jack, even though they chose me as their trusted leader. The feeling of losing someone and witnessing their murders right in front of my innocent soul, had racked my mind at a young age so violently, that to this day I still feel shivers. The incident of the plane crash had transformed my attitude towards things; it allowed me to depend on myself in life. It made me realize that my family and friends are the most important pieces of my life. I learned that hopes and dreams are what keep humans going though hardships; that evil is within all people, but to resist it from taking over, one needs to be intellect and civilized, otherwise chaos will completely demolish what the human race today has built for us all to survive. Even now my blood pulses within me actively, striving to help people survive; to be a leader....show more content... I base my work and life off of intellect thanks to an old, deceased friend of mine, Piggy; he had taught me great things. That name always makes me regret that I hadn't treated him fairly, even though he stuck with me when I was wanted dead by most people on that treacherous island. On the island, in order to survive from paranoia and savages, we had to make intellect choices, such as where we would find shelter and food; of course, I desired to play around with Jack, but Piggy and I knew in order to escape off this island, we needed to use time diligently. I am a 17–year–old girl with aspirations and dreams that I am determined to reach. Growing up in a religious family, I was always brought up with specific morals and values but that has shaped me into the person I am today. I grew up in a family where their education was not nearly as good as mine is today. Being the first one in my family to go to a four–year college makes me want to push harder to make them happy. I wanted to be able to do more like scholarships to benefit myself rather than having that feeling that I didn't do as much for myself then I should have. Being considered for a scholarship will give me the feeling that all the dedication that I've put into my work for the past four years was all worth it. Just the satisfaction of knowing that I put my all into it is just a good feeling as being awarded a scholarship. Scholarships are meant to push students farther in what they want so being able to do this has made me think of all the great things that can come out of things like this. I've never stopped trying at anything I've done and I will continue this as I go further in my education and career. The importance of philosophy is undeniable in everyday life, as it builds critical thinking skills and logical argumentation skills that are utilized in a myriad of professional fields. An example of a research project or thesis I would propose is a study of Heidegger's impact on the philosophies of logic and mind, how his works impacted both German and global societies, and how his ideas and ethics compare to that of Marx's, Nietzsche's, and Engels. This would perhaps encompass a trip to Germany and an attempt to come into contact with present–day German philosophers and professors in search of discovering something linking all four philosophers together that has not been discovered before. After all, while it may be difficult to come up with innovative research topics that have not been covered before in the world of philosophy, I know that I can come up with a bunch of original research ideas that will help develop the field of philosophy even further; having the requirement of applying for scholarships such as DURF grants will only enable me to venture out as far as I can possibly go within my research Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. Why I Want To Write A Scholarship Essay Currently I am an active student at the University of Delaware, yet I do not feel it is the right school for me. I like Delaware and all that it offers, but I do not love it. I cannot stand having my parents pay for an education and an experience I cannot fully enjoy and use to my advantage. I know in my heart that I am a Scarlet Knight. Since the day I was born I've bled scarlet, since my mother graduated back in 1991 and my sister is a current senior at the university. They were both very blessed to not only get a terrific education but make wonderful lifelong connections. I believe transferring to Rutgers would improve my focus on my education because there would be less distractions and I would be closer to my family. I know looking at my first semester grades you may not think I would be a successful candidate but I am certain at Rutgers University I would excel as a person and a student. Rutgers, in my opinion, is the perfect school for me with the amazing academic programs and the spirit and pride its students portray.
